NEC makes some of the best displays around.

This isn't one of them. It's a cheap(er) consumer grade TN panel.
160 degree viewing angles are a dead give away, as are the 5ms response time (too fast to be anything but TN).

I'm sure it's a great TN panel, but for the price you can get a refurbed IPS or MVA panel. Even an NEC at Newegg for $10 less (though that's 23").

NEC makes great monitors, but their lower end monitors are over-priced and riding on the name of their higher end stuff.
