OGG and FLAC. No longer the mark of someone who can’t leave the computer.

OOooh, I've been waiting for these!
Oh my gosh, YES! I have the 4GB Sansa Fuze and I love it! Sansas return! WOOT! This is a steal price too. Slow clap
love these. the micro SD slot is just awesome.
best mp3 player i ever had.
lol-ed at the write up. Good one Woot
Bought a new one from Amazon, after six months half the buttons didn't work. The battery life is pretty awful too. I could barely get four hours playing flac.
Just ordered my 3rd Clip+. They're so small I lose them, but I do love them so. Already have a 4gb MicroSD card to slip-slide on the inside of my sweet new Clip+.
I lost my maroon one :( so this is perfect timing..just wish it wasn't black.... but I am not gonna be picky! :)
This is the BEST SOUNDING MP3 PLAYER, PERIOD.
No question (mark) about it. Rated #1 by ANythingbuyipod.com
@thebhef: You wont get 4 hours playing FLAC if you hacked in a camcorder battery.
Look at the amphour of the battery, then look at the specs for it. Then look at the specs of the headphones you use. You got 4 hours, I think thats twice as long as you should have gotten.
These players are excellent, great for leaving in the car.
Own it. Love it. It's the essential mp3 player!
Ranked "2nd-best" in MP3 players, after the iPod Nano. http://www.bestcovery.com/sandisk-sansa-clip-4gb-red-mp3-player
My favorite quote from this review, however:
"All Sansa Clip MP3 players have skip protection, which means that the songs won’t skip while you run."
THANK GOD the electronic memory chips don't skip as they read electrons while you jog. That is so irritating. One minute you're jogging along at 1/100th the speed of light, pushing 10^19 gees, and the next minute Lady Gaga is singing "Pa-pa-pa-pa-poker face" instead of "Pa-pa-pa-poker face"... so irritating!
Someone spilled water on my ipod during a party over the summer so I've been looking for a new mp3 player. Good to see all the good remarks. In for 1.
sansas rock
Yes yes yes yes!!!! Finally!!! Sansa!!
Cnet somewhat respected site did a comparison of the nano with the clip+...and the clip+ was the CLEAR winner.
Don't forget Rockbox!
I own one of these and it is perfect. What a fantastic price!
I got one of these for Christmas and absolutely love it.
Only thing is I can't figure out how to make the time elapsed in a song change to time remaining.
A little late to the party, Sellout! DS had the same item last month, same price too. Still, get one while you can here... HOT!
You can Throw RockBox on it too....Did it to my Sansa Fuze....I Liked some of the options better...
As much as Woot carries these, and as much as they clutter up spaaAAaace! that could otherwise be used for Bravo Charlies, they are good MP3 players. Great sound quality, good interface, and makes your teeth whiter while you jog.
in for two. They are great
I have a two gig and I love it. I once accidentally tossed it against a wall (I was aiming for the couch, ok?) and was worried, but the thing is bulletproof. Perfect for running or biking or skiing or for anything that you don't want to take your fragile hard disc player with you.
i don't need one but these comments make me really want one, i shall resist
I did some digging to find the maximum micro SD card it will take, and found the answer in the last place I expected. It accepts cards up to 32GB
I've bought these before and have been really happy with them. I like the Sansa Fuze better, but it's more expensive, too. My concern with all the Sansa MP3 players is the non-replaceable battery, but so far, it hasn't been a problem with the ones I have. The screen is really small, so don't try to read it while driving. The stock firmware is good enough that I don't have to immediately stick RockBox on them too. It's very satisfactory with the standard firmware, IMO.
Great deal but NEVER AGAIN! why you ask? well for one my cell phone has become my podcast/mp3 buddy but the main reason my cell became my mp3 player of choice is...These freaking things are too small and I have washed (and dried) 3 of them...
I agree that the Fuze is my preferred player, but these are awesome. And for those that are scared off by the refurbished status, know this- I have bought a dozen or so refurbished things from Woot and only ONE had a problem. It was, interestingly enough, a 4G Clip+ player that would not accept anything bigger than a 2G uSD card. Woot refunded my money AND let me keep the player, so I have a free 4G (expandable to 6G) Clip+ that works great.
SANSA! welcome back to woot, i had thought we'd lost you
@aoviss:
"This is the BEST SOUNDING MP3 PLAYER, PERIOD.

a: you're on crack if you think MP3's "sound better" on this or any other mp3 player
b: a site called 'anythingbutipod.com' probably is not going to have the best reviews, sorry. though they do still seem to be in love the the Zune
These are the best. I use the radio (excellent reception) for running, and ripped audiobooks for walking. One of the few inexpensive players which can bookmark audiobooks (multiple books also).
I finally got around to using my Fuze more regularly, but take along for a run media player, it is NOT.
I think my old Creative V100 has both superior volume and audio quality; however, it consumes AAA batteries at a rate of about $8 a year (NiMH) and its only 1 GB. And, it's old.
So, Ive been waiting for Woot! to do a Clip for a while.
Love it, love it. I have had for a month and use it all the time. Gardening is a breeze with this MP3 player. Earphones are so-so but have a more expensive pair and use with the player. Micro SD sold me as my Zune does not have capability. I am converting all CD's to Micro SD to play with various players. Great little machine. Thank you, Woot.
The thing I love about the clip is the clip. I mean, I wrap the earphone wire around the Sansa a bunch of times and slide the end under the clip. The earphones actually stay in place and come out untangled. I never know what to do with the things when I use something other than the clip.
i ended up paying full-price for a new 4gb clip+ almost 1 1/2 years ago (because woot didn't have one at the exact moment the money was burning a hole in my pocket). still was well under 1/2 the price i'd paid for a 2gb (non-expandable) nano 3 or 4 years prior, and unlike the ipod it has not glitched! it works perfect everytime, it has fm tuner which i use at work A LOT, and i don't have to connect to that godaweful itunes program! why spend a significant amount of money more on an ipod when sansas are great? i finally got some new earbuds (maxell green m&m earbuds) 2 weeks ago for about $10 and now i'm even happier
@enantiodromia: Yes, because not liking iPods instantly invalidates the reviews. Perhaps you should head over there to see, because you may be very surprised. Anythingbutipod.com has some of the best reviews around, and they tend to be very honest, unlike Cnet whose reviews can be highly skewed by capitalism.
Also, just because you cannot hear a difference between players doesn't mean others don't. The Clip does have excellent sound quality. I broke my old one which is why I'll be grabbing this one. It is my workout player, while the Cowon J3 is my general portable.
People have been crying for these ever wootoff so lets go people!
I'm addicted to these! Along with all the other positive things listed here, if you need a good digital recorder (lectures, Dr. appointments, work meetings, etc) this has a good one. You can even clip it to your belt loop with your shirt over it and record convos without others knowing....(you know, if that's legal in your state of course...) ;)
IN FOR THREE!
@thebhef: Then call Sansa. I have a 2gb clip and this one and I only have to charge them once every few months. I get at least 20 hours of playing time for each.
After thinking about it, I'm in for two. I gave my old 1 GB normal Clip to my little sisters when I upgraded to the fuze. After the fuze I went to the Ipod touch, but I do miss having a cheap sturdy little device that I can use to listen to music while going to sleep. I figure if I give each of them one of these, I can get my old one back.. XD Thanks woot!
I looove my Sansa Clip refurb I bought on Woot a while back. Works great, never a problem, easy to use. Loved it so much that I bought my mom a brand new Clip+ for Christmas, but it has had some issues though (stuff disappearing from the player view, having to be reformatted causing everything to be lost, files getting corrupted for no reason, and the clip thing for attaching it is a lot cheaper quality). The Clip+ definitely isn't as good as my original Clip.
Still, I may have to go for one. Good price, and I have otherwise had good luck with Sansa (have both Clip and Fuze)
Argh. I just bought one of these a couple of weeks ago, after my daughter washed & dried my first one, for 40 bucks at BB. Dangit. I may just get another, for backup!
great price, great product - what's not to love. I have a Touch but I don't want to be out digging in the garden with it. These are tough! I used to have 4 but 2 were lent (given) and now I am down to two... oh no... I need another one!!!
I have an iPod Touch and one of these. I FAR prefer the Sansa Clip!
It's inexpensive, functional, lightweight, and tough. I can go running with my Clip and not worry about it getting damaged; even if it falls it'll bounce right back (unlike my Touch). And if something does happen that effectively destroys my Clip -- say, falling in a puddle, maybe -- it's only thirty-some dollars to replace it.
I've owned two of these, each one lasting through about three years of very heavy daily use. My current Clip is getting a little old now; the belt clip has broken off due to constant use and the screen is getting a little iffy due to a particularly hard fall some months ago. (There's a bad connection in there now so that the screen occasionally cuts out -- it only requires a sharp flick with a finger to make it work again, though.)
As far as battery life, I've been very pleased. Four hours of constant use is pretty accurate, and you can charge it off any standard mini-usb connector.
I have had the same one of these for over 4 years now. The thing is amazing, I love it. I have the 2GB version and between the little screen to the awesome little menu's this thing rocks.
Curse you Woot!! Just bought one for my mom for Mothers Day YESTERDAY for 40 little ones, and already opened and loaded music on it. Stupid "Worst Buy" return policy :|. I am not going to buy anything electronic anymore for fear that the next day it will show up on here. Thanks a lot Woot.....
Pardon my ignorance but what is Rockbox??? Do you have to buy it??
Those headphones look so cheep... but even cheep headphones need something like this...http://qrky.co/k6aWkM.
