Thank you very much for the slow shipping info. Wish more people with that knowledge would include it.I can attest to the slow shipping from this vendor.

This is an excellent buy. I've had a 1st gen Nook Tablet for a while. Have it rooted, running Cyanogenmod 10.1.2 (Android 4.2.2) and it is great. Fast, smooth, great little tablet. I'm tempted to pick this one up because of the bigger, higher-resolution screen.

Bought the Nook HD (7") from Woot recently, and love it. Haven't rooted it yet, but will be doing it this weekend. I'd get this large tablet, but I'll wait for a seller that ships things in a reasonable amount of time.

For $10 more, you can get the same from a eBay seller, project_contact. They ship in 4 business days. I recently brought a Nook HD+ 32gb from them for $134 ship. Very happy with it.

This is an excellent tablet. If you are afraid to root on your own (or lazy) this is the best $10- I have ever spent. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161023141705
This is the easiest way to Android 4.2.2

This is much better than the boot to android cards because you are actually replacing the operating system to the system RAM- it runs much more smoothly. All you need is a spare micro sd card and about 15 minutes (after you download the files). The instructions are clear as vodka, and you will be backing-up the Nook OS to this SD card in case you ever have to re-install it (return-warranty issues). I highly recommend this. I have purchased 3 of these tablets so far- if you don't need GPS or a camera- this is the tablet for you! It's high resolution 1920x1280, the dual core ti omap 4470 has similar performance to a quad core tegra 3 in most categories, sd card slot for expansion- the battery life is great on this thing also.

@juan2345678: I agree. I bought 2 of these last time they were up from 1saleaday on August 29th and they are supposed to arrive Sept 21st. So expect about 3 weeks shipping. But this is a great tablet for a great price if you don't mind the wait.

I have vowed to never order from 1saleaday. After waiting 6 weeks for an item I ordered, they cancelled it saying they didn't have enough stock. This would be fine had they not lied saying it was shipped and gave me 3 different tracking numbers, which of course none ever worked. What really sucked was the item was on ebay for 5 bucks more but I passed because I was waiting and they sold out before 1saleaday told me they didn't have it. They responded with automated responses. When I checked out consumer reports they sent plenty of people the same responses without even reading their customers' emails. I don't recommend them guys and gals, too shady for me. And unfortanately it is a good deal.

@gak0090: I have this and it is a very good tablet minus the camera & GPS as you pointed out.

I've been thinking about rooting it since I bought it. I'll take a look at your video later. One question about those cards you can buy on ebay. My biggest concern with that is they could be selling you a card that creates a backdoor for them to access your tablet or more simply just send them all of your keystrokes to get all your usernames/passwords. Do you have any idea how someone could verify that hasn't happened?
