If this is the same magnet Wile E. Coyote used, I am in...

awesome, throw a few in the fedex plane and fly them right over

@tarasadies: I don't know...look at what happened to him.

Wow! That's less than $1 per pound of pull force!

@meikat: I think the better question is what do you do with these?

vote-for3vote-against

@michaelproch: Get two. Attach them to a car with someone on the inside.

@meikat Are you a firm believer in miracles?

Last time I ordered this it got stuck to the side of the delivery truck and we couldn't get it off.

Good enough to wipe clean all the hard drives within a 1 mile radius.

.....and WTF is a bro tip?

Also: "Due to the special manner in which this magnet must be shipped and the danger in returning it to us, we will NOT accept returns on this item. Please be sure you know what you are getting into before ordering."

Anything with a warning like that is probably awesome.

1200lb pull force magnets: how do they work?

vote-for1vote-against

@michaelproch: I'm there with you. So cool but I'd probably end up wiping out my HD and magnetizing my watches by accident.

If we can get 10 of us to order, maybe we can get a group rate. Then we coulform a meetup group to do dangerous experiments!

@mdonthnier: How do they work? They work amazingly well.

Wait for the mag/motorcycle combo deal during the wootoff, These have been moving off the shelf like hot cakes. It will BLOW YOUR MIND! Literally. See this months use in field action from Iran and Israel: In India, investigators were searching for what they called a well-trained motorcycle assailant who stuck a magnet bomb on an Israeli diplomatic car in New Delhi. Also these are way louder than snap'n pops.

My mind is also blown. Under 9 lbs and has a 1200 lb pull force? You would need more than a team of 3 people to pull anything off this (which is how many they have), no? That's 400lb/person. I'm seriously impressed. Unfortunately, too expensive to just "try this out for fun". :(

@clumpymold: I think they are referring to just plain old handling, not using it to pick something up. I'd guess they advise using extra people just in case you walk too close to the fridge so it doesn't fly out of your hands or pull you with it.
