"Chain Type : Gold Plated Silver Chain"

The description says sterling silver though, and it looks silver in the photos.

That said, it sure is pretty.

Casn you substitute a blue topaz for an aquamarine stone for a March birth stone, or is that not acceptable? My daughter's birthday is next month and I want to buy her jewelry with her birthstone.

@cindihoward: I was thinking the same thing for my sister who is a March baby.

I'm a March baby and topaz is no where near the same as aquamarine.

@jylissia: Did anyone say they were anywhere near the same thing? I didn't see it.

@cindihoward: You can't substitute stones on anything on Szul's website that I'm aware of. They aren't a custom jeweler. They have plenty of other choices, though. They have regular specials all the time and I've ordered from them for my mom before without any issues and got a great looking product (a heart pendant last Mother's Day).

Amazing! I think it is very beautiful!

@bdoug399: You missunderstood my question. I did not mean I wanted to ask to place a different stone in the setting. The color of the blue topaz in the photo is very similar to the color of the aquamarine birthstone for February. I wondered if they both could be used as February birth stones or if the colors and stone appearances were so different that my sister would notice it was not actually an aquamarine? I can't tell the difference between a white topaz and a diamond and a simulated diamond.

@cindihoward: Aquamarines are significantly paler than this beautiful topaz. You could consider giving this based on its own merits rather than as a substitution for an aqua. And the price is right!

Well, I googled March birthstones and found that blue topaz is the most common substitute for aquamarine. I've bought blue topaz earrings before from a jewelry website that pops up often here. The topaz was a very pale, watery blue despite the photo being a deeper blue such as this, so I do think blue topaz can work for March babies.

Aquamarine is a much lighter stone topaz is often substituted for many birthstone because it comes in a variety of colors and is normally cheaper that he stone they substitute for.

This IS lovely I cant see anyone being dissapointed in it and I think they would fear you spent a small fortune on them.

Also Aquamarine is MARCH birthstone,Swavorski Crystal makes a lovely Aquamarine color crystal that would fill that light blue color as well

@cindihoward: Apologies! I see what you're saying now.

@cindihoward: http://1saleaday.com/flash/ is offering a bunch of aquamarine jewelry today (3/3/12). Yes, you do have to register on their site to see these deals. I have bought stuff from them before with no issue other than possibly slow ship (but no slower than woot). And be aware that the pictures make the gems look probably a little deeper blue than they really are.

@cindihoward: Another site I just discovered (Like I need more jewelry!). Just found them, so I cannot vouch for them. But their stuff looks nice, and decently priced. The aquamarine deals for March:
