vote-for3vote-against

peawork, don't feel alone there!

vote-for76vote-against

No thanks. I'm waiting for HP's 2nd generation Touchpad. I hear it will be light as air.

vote-for5vote-against

Is it unethical to vote this down to keep it off the main page?

Probably... damn it I hate being a good person

vote-for7vote-against

@mcgs999: maybe, but it is not unethical to vote it down because it's all speculation!

Put the link up when they are available!

vote-for0vote-against

I think it may take some time for them to figure out exactly how many units they have;

vote-for-19vote-against

This isnt a deal. They're all sold out and not producing anymore. The coming soon is just a easy way for them to ignore people without having to actually remove the page itself and delete the product off.

I can bet it'll say "coming soon" for months until they finally do take it down.

Also you spelled "coming" wrong.

vote-for1vote-against

This isn't news! Most of us, if not all, knew this was supposedly going to happen.

vote-for3vote-against

More stock supposed to hit later today.

vote-for45vote-against

THIS POST SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON POSSIBLEFUTUREDEALS.WOOT NOT DEALS.WOOT

vote-for1vote-against

I sure hope they honor all the orders they took before accepting any more orders!

vote-for1vote-against

They are honoring all order placed prior to 4AM CST on monday.

vote-for2vote-against

Actually, @aobfrost , If you go to HPs main page, they no longer have a 'Tablets' link, so that's not it. They're adding more stock until the last of it is gone. It has nothing to do with being lazy.

vote-for3vote-against

I like all the bandwagon down votes.

vote-for3vote-against

Yup the stock from the Bestbuy warehouse should be coming back to HP.

vote-for1vote-against

If they were going to have more units in the future they would not be canceling all orders after monday 4am cst. they sure are taking there time processing my order though got my order in at 12am est on the 19th and it still says processing.

vote-for3vote-against

As an HP partner am very dissadointed with this whole fiasco.

vote-for0vote-against

...coming soon...check back.

vote-for0vote-against

I'm pretty sure I can still go to the page on HP's website that has their tablets so I'm not sure what is meant when you say they have removed the Tablets tab. Also, on a curious note, I just read something odd about a 64GB Touchpad being offered in Europe. Shenanigans???

vote-for0vote-against

Oh and did anyone else opt to follow the link to have HP notify you by email when they would have more stock in on the touchpads?

vote-for4vote-against

Someone on slickdeals posted that a chat with someone from said, HP.com won't have more stock until monday... I dunno....

So how many people are constantly refreshing the hp.com 16gb/32gb touchpad? I know I will be every chance i get.

vote-for-28vote-against

@wnyx585am: HP claims that they are leaving the touchpad tablet smartphone space. This means no 2nd gen touchpads. Only time will tell

vote-for2vote-against

@freakvault: I called they said check website next week.

vote-for20vote-against

@sethgwork: It's a joke. "Light as air" meaning "non-existent."

vote-for4vote-against

It's not a deal until it's available.

vote-for0vote-against

@czupik: 12am on the 19th? How did you get it early Friday morning...the price didnt change till just before midnight too the discount

vote-for6vote-against

@srubery "As an HP partner am very dissadointed with this whole fiasco."

I guess that's better than being disappointed!

vote-for4vote-against

@freakvault: my F5 key will be broken by the weekend.

vote-for0vote-against

@freakvault: I've been refreshing the HP site since after they cleared out their stock! And I am in school constantly checking here at woot and refreshing the HP site as well.

vote-for5vote-against

I'm thankful for the post!

vote-for-29vote-against

These will be VERY expensive paperweights or door stoppers as HP has discontinued them!

vote-for4vote-against

@bigray57: yeah, but they are still supporting WebOS...not to mention everyone is working on a port to android for it

vote-for1vote-against

Oh ye of little imagination.

vote-for0vote-against

Hmm, I'll have to keep a close eye on this. I ordered one on the onSale Amazon store but it is still "shipping soon". I fully understand that they were ransacked with orders and it will take them a while, I'm just a bit nervous the order may get canceled. And I'm sure I can easily find a friend to resell it to if I end up with two.

I knew they were supposed to have a round two, probably to lessen the complaining when it takes someone two weeks to get theirs, so thanks for the heads-up that they changed it to coming soon, I'll certainly check it more frequently now.

vote-for1vote-against

HP can email you when the item becomes available:
http://www.hp.com/united-states/webos/us/en/tablet/touchpad-availability.html

If you're planning to buy one, you can at least save yourself the trouble of checking back constantly.

vote-for4vote-against

I didn't think this would get so much hate, I guess everyone is just mad they didn't get one ;). I just knew many people were looking for them and when I saw a change happen from "Out of stock" to "Coming Soon" I figured others might like to know so they could keep an eye on it as there are not any other places I know with them still in stock. Oh well.

vote-for1vote-against

@nummify: Of course, but I'll still check to hope to be lucky and see it come up before everyone gets the email. Not sure how quickly that email will get sent out and how slow the website will be as soon as it does.

vote-for-2vote-against

From the "HP TouchPad FAQs" page:

"Q: Do you have any HP TouchPad inventory available for sale?

A: We do not currently have any inventory available and are working to try and make more available as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that more will be available."

Good luck in finding inventory.

vote-for0vote-against

follow Bryna, according to her there are more coming and shes keeping everyone updated
http://twitter.com/#!/BrynaAtHP

vote-for1vote-against

@nummify: Yeah, but by the time you get the e-mail AND actually read it, HP.com will undoubtedly be sold out.

I'm guessing that HP doesn't have much stock left (hopefully i'm wrong!), and people are going to be slamming hp.com to get them.

vote-for1vote-against

@freakvault: I just wanted to give an insight update. I got through to customer service and they said there were 2500 available when the price was dropped and by 0615 there were 2000 orders in and by the time there web site went down they had a total of 16000 orders in.

vote-for2vote-against

Is anyone hacking BlackBerry Tablet OS onto this?

vote-for0vote-against

Regarding onSale orders. If you check their Facebook page they have already said if you haven't gotten confirmation of order shipment that you will not be getting one. Your oder will be cancelled, credit card hold released and Amazon open orders screen will be updated as they can slog through the backlog of oversold orders.

I think the only way that you will get one now is to pay full price, hope that Sears discounts their inventory, get lucky that your local OfficeDepot is one that gets some warehouse stock or just wait for the dust to settle and get one for $50 from all of the people that are going to be stuck not knowing how to hack and mod what they have. I can't imagine that HP moves stock in order to sell it. Their stock sits in a warehouse, is sold and ships. It doesn't go from the warehouse to HP's order center to be sold. If HP has any stock left it is stock moving from the manufacturer to HP's warehouses (and there is a possiblity that there is some of that stock - how much?
