@str8chilld2: Glad you got it to work! It wasn't working for a lot of people before because the servers kept crashing.

vote-for7vote-against

I go to starbucks a lot... so I bought 4, made 3 additional accounts to purchase from the link of the first one, transfered all of them to my single gold card. So I bought $40 worth of coffee for $20...but wait! because I made 3 purchases on that link it is now $40 for $15. woohooo.

vote-for8vote-against

Ummm, FYI, if you paid with the same card, they won't give you the free deal. They track what cards you use, even from other accounts. If they see the same card has been used to purchase a deal, even if it is two separate email addresses under two different names, they know. I found this out when my mother-in-law's Australian credit card wouldn't work, so I let her use mine on her account. I called when I didn't get my free deal, and they said, it looks like another account used the same card as you to purchase the deal, so it doesn't count.

vote-for2vote-against

@queesy: That's awesome. Did you use the same credit card each time, or did you have to use four different credit cards/debit cards/gift cards? I was going to do that too, but I wasn't sure if they limited the offer by credit cards/the address on your credit card.

vote-for3vote-against

@ibriian: i bought 4 too!!! probably gonna get 3 more... FOR THE PRICE OF 5!!! and yes, u have to use different cards, i don't think addresses matter, i did it when they had fandango movie ticket deals and got 8 tickets for the price of 4 :D

vote-for3vote-against

@rubysoho: Yeah I noticed that, I ended up paying with a CC a debit and a visa gift card i had lying around

vote-for1vote-against

@qnguyen8811: I used same address for all 4, different names on the accounts though

vote-for1vote-against

Stupid question is there a way to tell how many friends have bought it?

vote-for1vote-against

@qnguyen8811: No problem, I have an arsenal of American Express gift cards anyway LOL. Thanks for the heads up.

vote-for1vote-against

Took me about an hour to get the card number with security code in my email. I took the information and went to Starbucks.com. I was then able to add the card to my profile and transfer the money to my existing card. I then unregistered and removed the card from my profile.

vote-for3vote-against

@dravack: Not a stupid question, I guess it is a little misleading but basically you get a free $5 (good for $10) ecard when the third friend buys. Here was a screen shot I took before i made the last purchase. So really if you end up buying 4 for yourself. you get a 5th one for free. So it really comes out to $50 worth of starbucks for $20 still an amazing deal especially if you go there often =).

vote-for4vote-against

The irony is... this is still not a good deal. LOL

vote-for2vote-against

@kyamega: I guess so to some people, I am a gold card member and I work a lot at starbucks. So I sit there maybe order a small ice coffee, get free soy milk and syrup no charge. Work there for a few hours come out with maybe 2-3 refills for $1.75, seems ok to me

vote-for1vote-against

update I used the same card twice, different names, different address and it worked. Usually you would get an email saying you cant do that but I just got a voucher. So it works :]

vote-for0vote-against

@queesy: I understood the math just didn't know that the little people that were orange that turn to green showed you where you were at with recruiting friends. Was hoping some people off my FB would have bought one oh well.

vote-for1vote-against

@queesy: How long do they usually take to get applied.

vote-for2vote-against

@dravack: Actually I just received an email, my statement before is incorrect. I thought we would just be given a 5th ecard for free but the email actually says this.

"It appears that you're quite popular! Three of your friends have pending deal purchases through your personalized link, which means that yours will be free! Your payment method will reflect your free deal within a week from today. It's a small token of our appreciation for spreading the word about LivingSocial."

vote-for2vote-against

How long is it taking to get the email confirmation? I ordered about a hour ago and still nothing.

vote-for1vote-against

Mine still aren't lighting up =/ Bought twice through my refer a friend URL. Using a different credit card and no luck. Though did get more gift cards at $5 price.

Been taking mine 2 to 3 mins to get the voucher under my vouches at living social. But didn't get any emails other than the one on my main account no idea why. Might be delayed due to mass people buying. So yeah.. check your voucher area.

vote-for1vote-against

@dravack: After you purchase, if you check your "my vouchers" page or purchase history page on the living social account then it should show a greyed out starbucks voucher. If it doesnt it means they didnt accept your card. If it does then its just pending and wait like 15-20 mins and refresh.

vote-for2vote-against

Just FYI, you dont have to wait for the email confirmation. Just simply log into your livingsocial.com account, and click "my vouchers" to view your current vouchers recently purchased, and print it.

I received the email, and I have confirmed both have the exact same numbers.

I hope this helps:)

In for 4 for the price of 3. Great deal. I used 4 different email addresses and credit cards. All the same name and address. Added all 4 Starbucks cards to my current one and Bam! $40 worth of caffeine for $15.

In for one! Pls help a bro' out https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/448600

vote-for2vote-against

look like you are able to make 2 purchases per credit card. just create seperate accounts.

vote-for1vote-against

@queesy: That doesn't really help me. I'm not trying to get to my voucher. Again I'm trying to see how many friends purchased it. But my guys aren't lighting up. I know 2 have been bought using my refer link soon to be 3

vote-for18vote-against

Maybe I'm just a goody-two-shoes or whatever the kids are calling it these days... But isn't creating multiple accounts to get around usage limits kind of dishonest? Not to mention referring yourself to yourself to get one free... I mean, it's already $5 for free; what's with the greed?

vote-for1vote-against

I got mine. BTW did anyone do the auto reload deal that was here last month? I did, but no $10 bonus yet.

vote-for1vote-against

How does the referral work I don't understand. It says on mine I had 3 friends purchase, but no extra certificate and my account is still being charged 5 dollars.

vote-for-5vote-against

Just need 1 more before mine is free! Please help me out :)

vote-for4vote-against

I'm not sure what's up with all the down votes on the referral links. This is the community site. Help someone else out, get $5 extra free coffee, post your referral link, and maybe get an added bonus. Keep the savings circle going...

Plus, avoid the ethical dilemma of creating multiple accounts for yourself.

vote-for1vote-against

@dravack: I almost always have problems trying to find out how many have been bought off my referral link. Usually I'll get an email for the first one bought off it, saying that one of my friends used my link to buy. None of the others will send me an email and the little guys don't turn green to indicate that anyone's used my link. Usually I can't confirm that I got three referrals until a week or so later when it shows that I got it free.

it worked - this link works: https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/448600

Ordered this last night, already getting spam from Living Social this morning, lovely.

vote-for2vote-against

@dyingofboredom9: Just unsubscribe from their emails. It's pretty easy to do.

vote-for1vote-against

Sweet! This worked and I was able to add it to my account online and transfer it to my gold card just as I would with any gift card! :) GREAT deal! Now I need to make my multiple accounts!

vote-for1vote-against

@dyingofboredom9: It's not exactly Spam if you sign up for it....They are a deal a day site, they email you a deal a day. If you don't like it then unsub at the bottom of the email

vote-for0vote-against

@dravack: What I said before wasnt just for you, it wasnt just for your friend who you i assume you bought it from. Or who bought it from you. Just have them check their living social acct to make sure they have the voucher, if they do not then the other person did not successful purchase it yet.

vote-for0vote-against

@superllama7: I wholeheartedly agree with you.

However, people who tend to take small advantage of little things generally don't succeed in doing big things. It's ok.

vote-for-1vote-against

Are we really talking about morals on a deals site right now? Thats interesting haha.
I personally just go to Starbucks a lot, its on my way to work, whats wrong with saving extra money if I know I will benefit from it? If I didn't go so often and bought all of those eCards then I would definitely agree that is just plain greed/hoarding.

I love the assumption that people who take advantage of a small deal wont succeed at big things, thats funny. So funny. It's woot, we're all here to save money not judge each other, chill =).

vote-for1vote-against

I still don't why they do this.

vote-for1vote-against

@broskifski: Marketing 101

They get their 5 bucks back from you pretty quick. Starbucks makes their money on repeat customers - I recently read in a business journal that they average around $4.59 per transaction and that nearly 20% of their business comes from people who visit 16 times per month or more.

Basically it's a drop in the proverbial bucket in exchange for a customer who theoretically will have to visit a location twice to utilize the entire gift card. Also they have a large percentage of customers who do not spend the entire $10.00. Stores make a great deal of money from people throwing away cards that have change or just over a dollar left.

vote-for1vote-against

What the heck Arizona isn't on the list!!!

vote-for1vote-against

They're out of vouchers >_<

vote-for1vote-against

Not worth dealing with LivingSocial at 1/2 the price....
