Stuck at work now but I'll give this a try when I get home.

Anyone have any experience with Amazon Instant Video service? How the selection? It sounds like Amazon Prime members get more free stuff.

@offline999: I love the instant video selection. Amazon has turned into my online digital repository of all of my music, video games, and purchased movies/tv shows. I've had no issues with their streaming to a pc or to a roku. I don't know about the wii. I wasn't too happy with it for netflix (very clunky and slow). I can't speak about amazon services on the wii, but everywhere else, it has been fantastic. Bonus - many games I purchase from amazon for digital download, I can usually register the game with steam as well

@offline999: Lots of selection, just depends if you're looking for something specific. We have crappy DSL at my place and yet the HD version of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol streamed just fine, looked great.

I would assume the $5 credit doesn't HAVE to be redeemed on the Wii. I'm hoping to register our Wii, get the $5, and then spend it on a movie on our PS3. Anyone know if that's allowed or not (can't get the page to open for some reason).

@rayray8822: The $5 is is an Amazon movie credit that you will have added to your account. It happens when you go online to register you device (Wii). Once that credit is in your account you should be able to purchase/rent from amazon and have the amount taken out of the $5 credit.

I use Netflix on my Wii almost every day with no issues. Smooth playback, no buffering, easy navigation, all this despite being connected via wi-fi to our standard home DSL service.

Looking forward to registering the Wii with Amazon tonight.

Is this deal also available for first-time Wii U registration? I didn't see anything about it on the site.
