The 3DS doesn't cost much more, and I bet it's the same technology for the screen. Also, the 3DS takes actually 3D pics.

Just so I'm not reamed for being a fanboy, yes the 3DS has a lower resolution, and no, the cameras on the 3DS aren't so great.

Same technology as the 3ds, probably going to be quite dim.
I hope the 5 viewing zone hype simply means that you are dealing with 5 places you can see the image.
The overall resolution in 3d mode will be 400x600

I actually ran in to a guy who helped build these at CES this year. He was pretty nice, and gave us a full feature tour of the product. He mentioned that they were still looking for a big-box store to pick them up. Since they're pushing them on JustDeals... I guess we see how that went. Anyway, the 3D technology used on these works quite well. I'd even venture to say it was some of the best I got to play with while at CES. As @sakupiec mentioned, it may be dim (definitely more so than your normal picture frame), but I found it far from hard to look at. To answer @stevec5000 's question, there is software that comes with it to allow you to convert your current photos to 3D. I can't speak on the ease of use of the software and I'm not sure if it can convert video, as he wasn't really showing it off.
