Thought about adding this one...decent deal, so it's sponsored!
Looks like a great deal. I'm not a fan of mail-in rebates though. Shipping is $4.99.
So tempting but I know I'll never mail the stuff in for the rebate...
I had one of these when they first came out. It lasted 2 months before being totally worthless. I take that back... it still worked as long as you had it plugged into the dc charger. I figured the sun fried the circuitry or the battery that came with this cheap LG product. Why put a solar panel on the thing if it can't take the heat of the sun?
Meritline $7.99 after rebate, including shipping... Scroll down... http://www.meritline.com/dailydeals.aspx
I own 2 of these (one for each car). They're about 4 months old and I'm very happy with them. I had read some reviews that suggested leaving them in direct sunlight particularly in the summer could fry them so I did take care to take it out of the holder and put it in my armrest when I got out of the car but now that fall is here I leave it in my windshield all the time. I do ask the same question that others have asked: Why make a solar powered device that can't take the heat?
The units paired easily with my phone, they connect easily when I get in the car and the speakerphone sound quality is very good. People on the other end say they can hear me clearly as well. I don't talk a lot in the car but I've had 30-45 minute conversations without running out of power. I like 'em.
Used this twice and got rid of it. Sound quality was horrible.
I has one and considered it 'ok' -- when it worked. I loved the idea of the solar power, but the reality was it got too hot (in summer) in the car for the device and eventually expanded the plastic housing to the point where the control button could no longer be pushed. I replaced it with a Soche unit that seems to work a bit better under this condition.
Just got one on a daily deal site 2 weeks ago for $20 with a $20 rebate, so I won't be disappointed if it doesn't work that well.
I got mine a while back from Meritline I believe. Worked great, easy to use. I also had an issue with it not charging after a couple months but sent it in under warranty and it was replaced quickly with no charge for shipping it back.
Anyone know if this is compatible with the 2nd gen iPod touch bluetooth? I've had somewhat mixed luck getting stuff to pair. Wouldn't mind a wireless way to listen to it around the house.
Have one of these. The convenience of never having to charge it is very nice, but the sound quality is absolutely atrocious to the point of me sometimes not using it because I can't use it -- which is counterintuitive to having a bluetooth.
It pairs very quickly and I've never had a charging problem, but the sound quality is a dealbreaker.
This deal is dead
