I bought some this size just before Labor Day and it was about $7 more for the cheapest at my local Home Depot.

Bought these in store right before Labor Day and the price was the same. Bought 4 of them. They are really strong and last a long time!

I need one of these, but it'll never fit in my car...

@cooltommy: I fit 3 in my wife's 2004 Civic Hybryd

I have 5 of them now for my recyclables

@dopey5007: I find Civic Hybrids great for storing recyclables as well.

I picked up one of these from my local home depot. It's a surprisingly sturdy trash can and $9.88 is a great price.

OOS online isn't a big deal, shipping on them is horrid, but local pick up is the way to go, most stores have hundreds of them when they go on sale. Rubbermaid makes a good trash can. Beat the crap out of these things forever.

I bought two of these cans at around $13 each earlier this year, and they're mediocre. Very lightweight and thin plastic, and one of the lids cracked within the first month (we replaced it with a nicer spare lid from an older can). I can see some stress marks on the cans, and it's not like we abuse them! I can see why the reviews on Home Depot's website talk about cracks and other failures.

But - nicer trash cans also come with much higher prices. I'm planning to move within the next year, and I won't feel bad when I leave these behind.

And if you do get them shipped to you, the boxes make an AWESOME fort.
