Nice to see some American made Craftsman tools again - we've seen a lot of the Chinese ones (especially the "Craftsman Evolv" sets) lately.

I agree, though it seems some of the hand tools are still made here. I bought some US made Craftsman (mini)screwdriver recently.

I'm not sure what regular Craftsman are made here or in China. Recently I bought a few replacements for rusted sockets. The original set is a few decades old (a testament to the name), made in the U.S., and the off-the-shelf replacements also say "Made in the U.S.A."

However, I've never had problems with Chinese-made Craftsman. There's nothing inherently better about something made here or overseas. It's all about manufacturing quality, so a Chinese factory could well make things to toughness/tolerance/finish requirements.

Has anyone managed to buy these? It shows unavailable for shipping or store pickup for me and has since it was posted.
