Not a deal. 8GB of RAM costs this much retail these days.

This is $10 cheaper than Newegg's price for the same product, but they have other brands for this price.

It's a good "competitive" price, and then you throw in the free shipping. I think that's a deal. Good post.

this is standard rates for crucial. Their website will scan your PC and tell you what you have and what you can handle and offer you various options to buy. Never had a problem with their RAM. but still not a "deal".

@jheppner: Free shipping doesn't make it a deal.
Being cheaper than equivalent items makes it a deal.
This is a standard price for this much RAM right now. 6 months ago this would have been a deal, but not now. Actually you might even say it's a NEGA-deal, since you can get faster RAM for the same price at Newegg.

@gudsine: The "list price" on buy.com does seem to be completely ridiculous ($157?), but this is selling for $98 directly from Crucial - http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=CT2KIT51264BC1067

@stryker4526: I disagree. Take the cost of shipping from one of the other sites that show memory for the same "standard price" or as (stated above) $1 cheaper, and find out how much shipping is. Take that from this price, and you have a cheaper deal. Cost - Shipping = Deal. Simple math.

Ebay has it for OBO and I picked up some for $70 shipped...I remember just a year ago this ram was over $300. It is amazing how quickly the price drops and how much it will drop over the next few months. Even the $70 I paid will be high, but when you need it you have to get it.

Not exactly the same but one step slower here for at worst $65 after MIR:

Not sure if the discount code will still work but $20 rebate is still good.

@stryker4526: The price for faster RAM may be irrelevant to people who want to buy this. The speed of RAM you can use is dependent on what your motherboard will support. If this is the fastest your board will support, then you want the cheapest price for this, not something you can't use.

@mrzman: The DDR3 bus supports up to DDR3 1333 by default, sans overclocking.

@jheppner: Do you even look at other places before you post? Most of the 8GB RAM packages on Newegg are free shipping.
This is not, and never will be, a "deal." It's standard retail for this amount of RAM.

It's $10 more for the same Crucial 8GB kit at Newegg ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148276&cm_re=8gb_ddr3_204-pin-_-20-148-276-_-Product ).

The least expensive 5-star reviewed 204-pin 8GB kit I found at Newegg was $82.99 for G.Skill ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231342&cm_re=8gb_ddr3_204-pin-_-20-231-342-_-Product )

In for one. Next step, upgrade MacBook Pro HD to SSD!

@bbomb487: Don't waste your time looking for only 5-egg reviews. Like I said, this is standard retail price for 8GB of RAM. It isn't a deal. And you know the brand doesn't really matter, right? Unless it's OCZ. Stay the f*ck away from OCZ.
