Poor choice for an emergency tool. While ceramics do hold great edges they are not hard in the same way diamond is as this leads you too believe. The issue with using ceramics for anything more than a specialty tool is that they are brittle. They can chip and break rather easily. Again ceramics can indeed be super sharp and do hold an edge for a much longer time than most metals but be aware that there is a price to pay for that.

@philosopherott: Although you are correct that ceramic can be brittle, this razor isn't meant for everyday use. It will come in extremely handy in an emergency situation, and is certainly more effective than nothing or just about any metal blade. It is designed for very limited use, so that it may be relied upon in a real situation. In addition, the size is ideal for someone looking to add to their existing emergency tool kit or just to carry around on your person for peace of mind. In no way am I suggesting that this is the only tool someone might need, or that others aren't more effective. It's just a great deal on a ceramic razor blade that has been outfitted for escape/survival uses.
