@ladygzb: Next time Woot posts a Sponsored Deal for flights, book one to the airport closest to Clearwater. Then drive to your closest airport and fly there ;)
@gataf: Oh my. Would now be the correct timing for the usage of "shiver me timbers" ?
I went to a wedding on this boat years ago - we all had to dress like pirates. Was a great time!
@dmaz haha, yea that or swashbuckling sluts.
Yarr!

Pssst, @dmaz? I was providing information that you did not. Perhaps I could drive to Clearwater if I wanted to patronize this fine gentleman's cruises.
I live about 5 minutes down the road from this. I went on it with my family last year. We all had a great time. The games they had for the kids were fun and kept them out of the adults way so they could enjoy the cruise too.

I've done this twice with the kiddies, and had a lot of fun. Unless it's a private charter (which I haven't done, but would be AMAZING) it's pretty kid-oriented. Entertaining way to spend the afternoon.
Also, if you're in that area, Clearwater does a sunset festival at the pier each night, with artists and music and performers, and movies (free!) on an inflatable screen on the lawn. That's a lot of fun, too.
I'm glad they have plenty of C.D. and cassettes on hand for entertainment...from the 80's...
@dex15: Do they still fire the mini canon?
I did a pirate cruise with Captain Memo back in the 80s. I read on the website that he passed away a few years ago but the company continues on in his memory.
Captain Memo, RIP.
@onestinkyfish: They do! It was a blast (bad pun intended).
They fired it off a few times on the trip I was on. They made sure to do it when no other ships were around though. I understand why, but it took some of the fun/role play out of it.
