I would think an irregular tree would be cheaper than this...

The Target has at least two other upside down trees.. What the heck? Is this a thing??

vote-for5vote-against

Do you have to put an upside down star on the bottom? Is that the sign of the anti-christmas?

vote-for6vote-against

Now it's tall enough that Santa can finally fit that car I've wanted under it.

A friend of mine had one in the corner of her living room and hung all her Hallmark Barbie ornaments from it. It looked great. They're great for showing off ornaments as they hang down without being hidden by branches.

It was clever when twentysomethings screwed a fake tree to the exposed beams of their flat upside down, after figuring a way to keep the branches from falling out. Now it's just... sad that people would pay extra for the same thing. No creativity involved.

This is the Hot Topic of christmas trees.

PS- It isn't even Thanksgiving yet, what the HELL people?!

vote-for2vote-against

I can't help but think that this is a sad thing. Anti-Christmas indeed!

vote-for7vote-against

Just what i've always wanted...a christmas tree that reminds me of the state of my car loan and mortgage during the "most wonderful time of the year".

vote-for5vote-against

Why would you pay $300 for an upside down one when the normal kind is $50?

Do you get more gifts with this one?

vote-for2vote-against

Well if you hung the tree from the ceiling it would be right side up. or maybe its a Australian Christmas tree because its down side up

vote-for4vote-against

Sure, it's cool, but how is this a deal, being full, absurdly inflated, retail price and all?

vote-for3vote-against

Sorry, but I need it to rotate and blast "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer."

Christmas trees were innovated in Germany, where they hung the tree upside-down from the rafters of the house. This isn't something new... it's old school. Very old school.

vote-for2vote-against

Unless you sleep like a bat, I just don't get this. It just....doesn't look good.

vote-for2vote-against

Would look cool hanging from my ceiling (_)

vote-for2vote-against

This is definitely not anti-christmas - it's just an alternative decorating idea. I've only ever seen it in houses where they have multiple Christmas trees and really go nuts decorating for the holidays. It's a way to save space, and to show off ornaments.
It's not my thing, but I appreciate that someone may be interested.

WOW...so do we wrap the presents inside out and put the presents upside down on top of the tree? LOL!

vote-for2vote-against

Well the original idea was for a live tree, until the creator got shocked while trying to fill the water stand whilst upside down :(

vote-for3vote-against

Newbs buy this kind of stuff for that kind of money

vote-for3vote-against

I'd rather just get a pole and celebrate Festivus.

vote-for4vote-against

Ah, I get it. It's for those Inception-themed Christmas decorators.

Also: BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHM!

vote-for2vote-against

I'm confused. Whhhhhhhy would one want an upside down tree?

Hmm, maybe for that Charlie Brown tree effect? Naaaaaah.

vote-for3vote-against

- Its an idea that allows for more room under the tree for presents -
Well sure beats a aluminum pole ey George ?
"Airing of Grievances" and "Feats of Strength," and the labelling of easily explainable events as "Festivus miracles." "another way" to celebrate the holiday season without participating in its pressures and commercialism.

Geez, who knew this would garner so much interest?

For those of you interested, here's a Google showing pictures of decorated upside down trees. You'll see they're very festive. The friend I mentioned did have trees in each room, windows, etc. This one was situated in the corner behind/above the piano.

Yeah, I wonder why the "champagne" one costs $100 more than the white and green ones. It looks kind of like it's dying in comparison!

vote-for2vote-against

Pfft. Noobs. Wanna impress me, put your tree in horizontally...

vote-for1vote-against

It looks sorta like a tornado. Just need the lights to blink in a way that simulates motion.

vote-for2vote-against

Does setting the tree upside down symbolize a Christmas in distress?
