I find it funny that I vacuum higher class than people who drive Lexus.

@rageofangels: You vacuum in a Porsche? I vacuum in a 50's amusement park bumper car.

To bad Target was donating $$$ to a pro business candidate. If you boycott a company because they donate to politicians then you don't ned to live in the USA. EVERY SINGLE MAJOR COMPANY donates $$$. Pepsi, Coke, Ford, Chevy, Gm, Walmart, Target, all banks, Food companies, etc all donate.

@kevskoolkars: Every corporation is going to donate to a pro-business candidate. Unfortunately those same candidates often have other agendas which severely impact many of the employees and patrons of said businesses. When corporations have no limits on spending they will ALWAYS support those who vote in their interest and that of their shareholders. Thereby a wealthy minority are able to subvert the democratic process for their own ends.

I have not shopped at Target since their donation. If a corporation wishes to support political candidates that choose positions contrary to the patrons of that corporation, they should well expect that they will lose a segment of their market. THAT is democracy in action. In a capitalist society, people vote with their dollars.

I boycott Best Buy because their customer service sucks, and when they had the clear opportunity to make things right with me over a relatively small issue, they chose to quote policy and claim their hands were tied.

@zippy the pinhead: Did I miss where Target & Best Buy came out and said they were donating specifically because the candidate in question was a homophobe? I think not. There are certain people I vote for or give money to that I like and agree with most of what they have to say but not 100% of what they say or believe. That doesn't make me one way or the other. Same thing for Target & Best Buy.

Remember the homosexual community overall is small in a relative comparison to the US populous. So it's not like Target & Best Buy are losing a huge majority of their customer base. Since the boycott on Best Buy started their shares have actually risen as have their profits. The number of people walking in fell a little but the amount spent per customer rose.

These little boycotts by such a small minority do nothing to companies.

Look at the boycott on Arizona for example. It has also been a HUGE flop. Their tourism has increased.

Haven't shopped at Best Buy in years due to the fact that everything they sell is highly over priced. And Target is very obviously marketed at the gay community. A small donation and a quick oversight. No harm. Pass please. Anyway, looks like I will be picking up a dyson this week,
