Amazon reviews are atrocious. Anyone have a good experience with this piece?
Thanks I was going to buy it as a gift, but didn't see those reviews. Would hate to have to try to find a way to return it.
Seems expensive when new blue ray players are under $100.
Isn't it strange that TVs with apps are usually several hundred dollars more that the same brand without apps but a blue ray player can play a disk AND have the same apps for under $100?
@joedetroit: You would almost think that TV manufacturers are just using the apps as an excuse to make larger profits...
I don't own any Samsung devices, but SO MANY of their products have terrible reviews. You may not get what you pay for with this.
I had a refurb one of these for a day and it went back. It was ridiculously loud and locked up constantly.
@kovo: Actually, the phones are good. I bought a new Casio Commando, and it was bleh, rebooting when navigating ("Take a right at... BOOP" reboot... DAMNIT!) and the Nexus One I bought (Google-branded, HTC manufactured?) has the stupid touch screen problem. I bought an abused Samsung Charge from a friend (which the Internet forums make fun of constantly), and it works flawlessly.
I purchased the Samsung BD-E5700. It has horrible reviews also. I have not had a problem yet. I keep the wired connection instead of WiFi and keep the firmware up to date. My guess is many people don't update firmware or even know that is a thing that you have to do.
If so many people are knocking this unit, why does it have so many upvotes?
Bigger problems is that Woot seems to be mixing up the Samsung BD-E5900 3D Blu-ray Player with the Samsung BD-EM59C 3D Blu-ray Player. Back on October 26 I ordered from Woot the Samsung BD-E5900 3D Blu-ray Player (Order #41939362) What they shipped was this older Samsung BD-EM59C. Interesting that they are now advertising the Samsung BD-EM59C. Makes one wonder what even older model they are really shipping.
