But I thought Circuit City was dead.

CircuitCity.com (CircuitCity.com, Inc. d/b/a Circuit City & CircuitCity.com) is an online retailer. It was originally the Web domain for the now defunct Circuit City chain of stores. Shortly after Circuit City filed for bankruptcy and began eliminating its brick and mortar operations, Systemax, a consumer electronics company primarily known for selling computers and other products through home shopping platforms, began negotiating to purchase the Web domain from the trademark's owners and relaunch it as an online store. [1] The sale was completed on May 19, 2009. [2]

@thegarageband: Yup, same thing for CompUSA. Systemax is TigerDirect.com, for those who aren't aware. All three websites are owned by them at this point (TigerDirect.com, CircuitCity.com, and CompUSA.com)

You'll usually find the same deals on all of their websites (TD, CC, Cusa, etc). If you find that one website is charging you sales tax, try another one. I've done this a couple times in the past; TigerDirect has a physical store in North Carolina so they have to charge me sales tax, but I can score the same deal on CircuitCity.com without any sales tax.
