5 watt LED and 120 min battery life? how did they stuff the equiv of 4 AA NiMH batteries into that small package

I bought 3 of these a while back. They are junk. The switch failed in 2 of them and I have to keep moving the third one around in the lighter socket to get it to charge. I was going to give them as gifts but the first one crapped out when I tried it FOR THE FIRST TIME! Live and learn...then pass on the info.

@lwang: Its five watts at a very low voltage.

@triikan: I don't think you understand what you're saying. lwang was correct in stating that the battery in that thing could never produce 5 watts for 2 hours, because that would require a 10 watt/hr battery, or 4 standard NiMH AA batteries. Run a search for "battery energy storage in various sizes" if you don't believe me, or still don't understand.

Watts are a measure of TOTAL energy output. As long as the watts remain constant, raising or lowering the volts will theoretically not significantly affect the size of the battery required.
