Sansa Clip PLUS, 4GB with microSD slot - refurbished for $19.99
Sandisk 4GB Sansa Clip+ MP3 Player with Expandable Memory Slot. $2.99 Shipping. Total = $22.98 Available in Red, Blue and Purple. (Refurb, of course.)
In case you STILL don't have enough Sansa Clips, here's another chance for a good buy. Besides do you have all these colors yet? HUH? Do ya?
The current version of Rockbox (3.9.1) is stable on this.
If I buy one of these as a spare (in case mine ever breaks or I lose it), how long would you expect the internal, rechargeable battery to last? In five years, could I charge it up and still be good to go? I think these are lithium ion batteries, right? I guess I need to know their shelf-life.
Ohhhhh I can get purple to add to my collection....
For longest life, store lithium batteries at 40/40, i.e., about 40% charge at about 40 degrees fahrenheit. Just put it in the fridge.
Talking with my good friend just yesterday, I mentioned my relief I that I will no longer feel compelled to feed my Sansa clip addiction because Woot! appears to have exhausted their supply of them. Then someone has the audacity to post a link to a frickin purple one! A PURPLE one!
In for three, damn you!
@prplmtngal: muahhhahahahahaha!
Before me and Google tussle for yet another half hour ...
What's the max capacity of the SD card?
Why don't they advertise this?
@gidgaf: I don't know if a 32gb card will work, but mine has a 16gb card and works fine.
@gidgaf: I wonder too why it's not in the specs, but I've read time & again in user reviews that you can use a 16GB micro sd card. But I haven't personally used a 16GB.
I just discovered one reason why there are so many refurbs out there... Amazon is giving up to a $10.75 Amazon Gift Card for trading in any of these. See: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=ce_nav_trade_MP3players?ie=UTF8&rh=n:172282,n:!13900851,n:!513014,n:2226766011,n:172623,n:172630,n:1264866011&bbn=2226766011&rnid=172630
Oh...and they've upgraded the clip+ to a "zip"...with yet more colors...
Nice deal, except I decided to skip the plus and go directly from the clip to the zip.
I have used one of these with a 32 GB card, it works fine. The reason so many reviews don't mention 32GB cards is at the time they were written, 32GB cards were very expensive and few people had them, or they weren't even available yet. The price has come down dramatically in recent months.
Thanks guys. I was thinking of picking up a pair anyway, but that just sealed the deal.
I live by LAX, and no matter what genre you listen to, if it ain't Spanish there's only two radio stations for it on FM. At the last Evanescence concert it was the joke- if it wasn't for the radio promos Evanescence isn't on the radio in LA. So I ditched the cassette player for the CD/radio a few years back, and I keep a couple dozen CDs with me in the car. Hooking it up to the USB charger I can have a couple dozen gigabytes of music, and they're always available without digging around.
I had used that Polaroid POS (from woot) to do this, but it didn't last.
BTW, the same site also has a network adapter for $1, if you already got your second ISP notice ...
