This looks like it would be useful as part of my video surveillance system. Anyone know if the transmitter will interfere with my WiFi?

Same idea as @nortonsark: This might do nicely for surveillance /nanny cam
. stash a mini ccd cam somewhere and you're in business

Great reviews over at Amazon... Maybe lacking support and be careful with not overfrying the battery.

@nortonsark: It won't interfere with wi-fi, this is on portable phone freq.

can the receiver unit output to another device?

vote-for1vote-against

apparently no "out" as I just watched a video of it on HSN

vote-for4vote-against

@webgenie: Are you sure about no out? The receiver in the pictures has a plug that clearly says AV OUT and one of the cables is a 3.5mm jack to RCA cable. What else would that be for?

Contract Ratio: 400:1 Huh?
Brightness: 200cd/m2 Huh?x2

Here's a really good overview including the unit in action.

Well I took the plunge for 3 of them.

vote-for1vote-against

Oh wow....I didn't notice that!

vote-for1vote-against

Okay I pulled the trigger!

Does this depend on the DVR? I remember when I connect the HDMI and S-video output of my DVR, output to the S-video is funky because things were optimized for HD.

Can you run two of these at the same time? Will they interfere with each other?

vote-for2vote-against

Here's the deal-killer for me - Built-in battery for 2 hours usage

vote-for0vote-against

Refurbished killed it for me. X

vote-for0vote-against

@mjonczak: that's why they make ac plugs!

vote-for1vote-against

I'm really intrigued.....don't really know if I need it but it sounds cool!
I also take the output of the TV as meaning it could drive another TV or such.....

vote-for1vote-against

@jjeff: I presume with the TV out, this unit could acts as a wireless transmitter to another TV, at a extremely low resolution

vote-for1vote-against

@lwang: I wonder what the RF connector is for on the broadcaster part?
Oh and you think the resolution of the OUT might be lesser than 480i(SD)? I guess I hadn't thought it would be but I suppose for such a small screen they could get by with less....

vote-for2vote-against

@videowallart: You sure? WiFi is on 2.4 through 2.47 GHz band. The last 2.4 GHz video transmitter I used blocked a significant amount of channels on my home WiFi.

vote-for1vote-against

@jjeff: The resolution is likely determined by the analog input and its circuitry of the transmitter. I am not as concerned about the resolution displayed on the display, but when using the video out of the display when plugged into another TV.

There is also a AV port on the transmitter. Don't know if that if that is input or output, or what it would be used for.

The AV on the transmitter is listed as a combination input jack. Here is the link to the user manual.

By the way....it came with another AV input to RCA adapter!!!!
