Takes three D cell batteries, which is a deal-breaker for me. I'd rather it take 6 AAs or something like that, so I could use rechargables in it.

I bought this a few months ago and love it. It has a very heavy base and works great. The light is very bright and you can aim it just where you need it.

You can get an adapter kit from Sanyo that allows you to use AA rechargeables in C and D cell devices. I got them with a set of Eneloop batteries.

Who says you cannot get rechargeable D cells ? Every charger that I have ever had,alkaline and NiCad/NiMh, charges all 4 sizes including 9volt type.

I bought one for my Dad and one for myself just before Christmas. We have both used them and found them very helpful especially at putting light just where you need it. It is incredibly versatile.

It's a couple bucks cheaper on Amazon if you have Prime and reviews are average.
