Be aware that it appears to be a one-use-only code. Went to look up a system for my '72 Chevy shortbed project and it wouldn't let me apply the code again (having already hurried to make a separate purchase for my Durango before supplies ran out). Doesn't matter as I wouldn't have bought that setup anyway, but thought I'd mention it in case anyone else needs more than one system.

vote-for5vote-against

Also be aware, this doesn't make you 4-banger sound "badass " , it just sounds like a loud moped!

vote-for1vote-against

Didn't work for a flowmaster catback system for my 2001 mustang V6.

vote-for3vote-against

@reeds101: Might want to check again and make sure you're using the right code for the Flowmaster setup. It's FLOWMAST and not the other one. I just put the #17275 system in my cart and added the discount code and it dropped the price just fine. Here's a screenshot:

Pre-discount price is $374 and after discount is $262 shipped. Not bad since list is $695!

Might want to hustle -- there's only 2 or 3 left in stock. I know driving a V6 'Stang you're used to going slow, but.... :-D

vote-for5vote-against

@bjerwin: 03 WRX, yes, it would make it sound badass. And no, it wouldn't sound anything like a moped. (Don't get me wrong, I do love me some V-8 rumble too, but AWD + Turbo Spool + Aforementioned Boxer Rumble = Sax on the Beach)

IMHO, of course. YMMV

vote-for4vote-against

@zackschumann: I think he was talking more about the '89 Accord inherited from one's grandmother. :-D

vote-for3vote-against

People who buy these are 'tards.

vote-for4vote-against

@enginerd94303: Excuse me? Care to elaborate? If you're buying a system for a 120HP Kia, I agree. However, this will be a good, legitimate performance upgrade for my '01 Durango R/T (250 HP/350 ft-lb torque) and I love the Magnaflow catback on my modified '02 Z28 (350+ HP/400+ ft-lb torque).

Still thinking about picking up a pair of 3" Flowmasters for my '72 Chevy shortbed with a '99 LS1 even though I've already got a complete stainless Pypes system.

In other words, you're rather ignorant about this deal.

vote-for3vote-against

@brossow: I tried ordering a different system and it worked for that one. It wont make the 6 banger go any faster, but it will at least look more like a V8 with duals now haha

vote-for1vote-against

I've always wondered if the performance gains they offer are always for real. I know that they dyno test all these, but I have a hard time believing that a factory exhaust limits the ability of the engine to breathe so much that they can eek out 20+ hp and torque with a wider exhaust.

vote-for5vote-against

@catbertthegreat: On a small-displacement, low-horsepower engine the gains are going to be minimal. But on a larger engine, especially in combination with other exhaust improvements (i.e. headers and low-restriction cats), a better-flowing exhaust can make a significant difference. A 20HP gain on a 120HP engine is a fairy tale, but a 20HP gain on a 300HP engine is entirely feasible. Opening up the exhaust on my Z28 made a noticeable difference.

Remember that the factory isn't always tuning for power and performance to please the consumer but rather emissions and mileage to please the government.

glad to know that the nerds here on woot (me being one as well) at least are auto junkies like myself. with the super saver shipping and the discount i paid only $100 on a pair of chambered mufflers from magnaflow. amazing deal!

vote-for2vote-against

Does this come with rice or is it sold separately?

vote-for6vote-against

@retainer55: WTF is "rice" about Magnaflow and Flowmaster? Idiot.

vote-for1vote-against

wow. was content with my car until i saw this deal...now im $261 poorer but my 2003 mustang conv v6 will be dual exhaust richer. i dont even care if it adds HP, for $260 shipped it's worth the better look. already have a CAI and tuned for super unleaded just because i could, so why not? now i just need a GT/cobra bumper cover. i banged up my bumper cover anyway and it has giant cracks in it.

THANKS FOR MAKING ME POOR

vote-for1vote-against

Didn't work for a 40 series.

vote-for1vote-against

Tried it for my 2006 durango and didn't work.

vote-for1vote-against

I would love to buy one of these for my 04 Audi A4 3.0, but even with all the discounts applied it's more than twice what most of you are paying. Ouch.

vote-for1vote-against

All I had to do to make my Dynasty 3.3 sound better was pound out the insides of the cat with a crowbar.

vote-for4vote-against

Just a quick point... for those having trouble applying the code, make sure that the seller is Amazon and not another vendor. It didn't work for me the first time, until I noticed this.

I decided not to pull the trigger, for my car the Magnaflow catback exhaust system was still $457 after the discounts. Not a fantastic deal.

vote-for1vote-against

no deal. Nothing listed for a Jeep Liberty.

@enginerd, get over yourself. Not all of us want to drive a stock Kia like you. If I can squeeze another 15 HP out of my exhaust for about $200+, I see no crime in that. I'm not that guy who sits there and revs his motor on his bike or his car just to bother other people, but if there's a little extra hum that comes with the performance, then so be it.

vote-for1vote-against

@brossow whats "rice" about these is the inevitable fact that there will be at least 5 morons buy some kind of '96 honda civic with 80 hp that they found on craigslist for $2k and throw a $250 flowmaster on it along with their $20 seat covers from autozone and rev it up every time they take off from a stop light. to be honest, im not sure why you would put one of these on a durango either. if a car isnt meant for performance, then why try to make it?

vote-for6vote-against

@brossow:
he seems to be just some prick who doesn't understand tuning.

Now if I had a car, i would be all over these. Unfortunately i totaled it, having hydroplaned into a tree -.-

vote-for3vote-against

@leemejean: I guess you're not familiar with the Durango R/T. It's the performance version ("R/T" = "Road/Track") of the Durango and isn't your mom's grocery-getter.

I know what you mean with your Honda comment, but American V8 power is why Magnaflow and Flowmaster exist. It can't be helped that inevitably some goofball with an econobox will try to make his car look/sound faster with one of their products, and yes they do make products targeted at this audience, but their wheelhouse is real performance.

vote-for1vote-against

@brossow the civic comment wasn't directed at you, I was just emphasizing why aftermarket exhaust has turned into rice bait. Personally, i think the only use of them should be solid american muscle or fittingly powerful asian imports (mistubishi lancer evo, subaru wrx sti, etc.) id include european imports, but your cheaper versions just arent natural and if anyone dares defile a beamer or audi with a 4" fart can id have to strip their license.

im familiar with r/t and srt models. but consider how often you see a dodge durango used on any kind of track. at the weight of a car like that, 250 hp is less than impressive and once again, would be just plain unnatural on something so cumbersome.

vote-for1vote-against

@zackschumann: is it wrong I prefer the boxer rumble over V8?? ;)

Code did not work for the 2009 Subaru WRX Magnaflow Cat-back, but it was NOT sold by Amazon directly.

Good thing I already have a Cobb CBE... but I was hoping that Magnaflow sold downpipes on Amazon... no such luck.

vote-for3vote-against

@leemejean: The Durango R/T is tuned for torque (350 ft-lb) from the factory. Add headers and exhaust, a bigger TB, etc. and both numbers go up considerably. When was the last time you saw a Durango R/T anywhere, let alone the track? There were very few produced. But whatever. I understand what you're saying, but I don't think you understand the nature of this particular beast. It's a truck and is tuned as such. :-)

@elwrayswrecker: I really intended to specify in the original post that the codes are only good for items sold by Amazon, but I forgot. I'll tattle on this and ask the mods to add it in. Sorry for the inconvenience!

@brossow im just that type who prefers a good european over an american car i guess. ive never had any luck with ANY american brand in my lifetime, some breaking down in need of engine replacement before 150k miles. my next purchase will most likely be a newer VW just so i have something to last me 5-7 years without problems. im not completely against american muscle though, i have a friend who sports a b-e-a-utiful '04 GTO that hes put around $3k aftermarket into

vote-for2vote-against

DANG IT.... I really need a nice exhaust on my car... "The promotional code you entered has expired."

vote-for4vote-against

I just used the code, works just fine, new 3.5" cat and muffler for the race car.

vote-for1vote-against

@bjerwin: Also be aware, this doesn't make your V8 lorry sound badass. It just makes it sound stupid.

But hey, crappy shortbus drivers should buy these so I can hear you before I see you. Like three miles off.

vote-for4vote-against

@thelostartof: Agreed. Just created a new Amazon account and used the MAGFLO30 discount code to test (didn't place the order) and it took 30% off.

HOWEVER ... the FLOWMAST code has expired. Glad I ordered my mufflers last night.

vote-for5vote-against

@enginerd94303: If I want to make my muscle car louder I can do it if I want to, it's freedom of expression even if it annoys people like you. It's just like how some people go on internet forums and annoy/insult people for buying mufflers, it is really annoying but people still can do it. And investing in something that increases horsepower and gas mileage is more of a "productive use of time or money" (may I add some people enjoy working on cars) than buying video games, and I doubt you get angry at people for buying those.

vote-for3vote-against

Deal appears to be dead. Both the FLOWMAST and the MAGFLO30 codes gave me "offer expired". Sad, it could have saved me $258! It's probably for the best...

vote-for3vote-against

Confirmed, dead for me as well.

vote-for3vote-against

@threechordsuicide: The product you linked to isn't sold directly by Amazon. That's one reason it didn't work for you. But more to the point, it seems the deal is dead now, this time for real.

vote-for1vote-against

Dang-it, I really could have used a new resonator (something that makes the car quieter instead of louder, the whole point of a muffler...) for my 62' P1800, oh well, the drone must go on!

vote-for1vote-against

@daftvillain: been there done that. are you OK? i walked away with a hugely swollen knee but otherwise untouched. seatbelt saved my life for sure...i bruised my knew b/c the engine was shoved into my legs

vote-for4vote-against

The MAGFLO30 code is not dead yet, just make sure the seller is AMAZON. You can still get the 30% off as long as the seller is AMAZON

vote-for3vote-against

@micheal0484: Odd, because I tried it myself earlier with a fresh account and it most definitely did NOT work with an Amazon-sourced part. I'll try again....

... Yup, it's alive again. Weird!

vote-for0vote-against

@brossow: You do realize that both companies make coffee can mufflers that will sound like ass on pretty much any 4 cylinder car...right? Oh wait, no you don't. :P

EDIT: Lol...the system for my car is $960.

vote-for1vote-against

DAMN IT!!! Why didn't I see this a day ago? Promotional code expired :(

vote-for3vote-against

For those who missed out on this, I just posted a deal for 12% off at another site:

http://deals.woot.com/deals/details/0ef66f26-2ac4-4e87-a7b7-1fd66fcedca4/magnaflow-exhaust-components-12-off-at-etrailer-com#0

Not the same as 30% off, but not the same as paying 100% either. :-)
