dealsvivitar sf3000 digital slave flash for digital…

Looks sketchy. Deals are too good to be true, lots of noise on the web about them selling knockoffs and refurbished stuff without stating such in the product description.

Too bad, I could use the wireless card that's on there now, but not worth the potential hassle.

Total Woot ripoff, but with (mostly) crappier products.

I haven't personally bought from them, but my Dad regularly gets "Free+shipping" items from them.

He seems happy enough to keep going back.

I have ordered about 8 items in the last 5 months and I have been happy with everything I got from them. Watch prices are unbeatable. I got a Pulsar watch and the metal band was too small. I contacted Pulsar and they sent me free links.

I've bought from them (a refurb TomTom One for $50). No problems.

vote-for3vote-against

I buy from them from time to time. Haven't had a problem yet.

Most of these deals look too good to be true. The few things on here that I have recognized (maybe two "deals") have been crappy product.

I would steer clear.

I ordered a Western Digital 1T hard drive from 1 sale a day about a year ago - was a great deal, no problems-is connected to my hd dvr with tons of HD programming recorded on it.

vote-for1vote-against

I agree this does seem too good to be true.

vote-for1vote-against

I've ordered from them before. I agree; mostly crappier products and the shipping seems a bit much. But then, with $5 Woot shipping I'm a bit spoiled.

vote-for1vote-against

Woot rocks! I have returned items with no problems. if something isn't right just conatct them.

vote-for1vote-against

Not a bad deal. I have one similar and it works as expected.

Does the Vivitar flash they're selling only sense a pre-flash via it's optical sensor, or does it also receive the flash signal from the hot shoe?

vote-for2vote-against

I've purchased several items from them (some free, where you have to pay for shipping, and some paid items) and they've come pretty quickly without being damaged. It's not a sketchy website, but the deals have been bleh for a few months now.

vote-for1vote-against

good deal. will buy one.

vote-for2vote-against

I've also purchased from them, and have never had any problems. If I'm not mistaken, this was the website that was giving away a free ceramic mandolin slicer and ceramic peeler (to items in one box) and all you had to do was pay the $5.99 for shipping. They were actually nice products!

$14.99 Vivitar slave flash for DSLR - not a bad deal. May not be the very best, but certainly not the worst, either.

I like the new site -gives me more than one thing to check out every day.

vote-for2vote-against

I can vouch for this site. I've bought plenty of things from them and they've always arrived. They are, however, all cheap Made in China crap, so don't buy any complicated electronics and expect all batteries to arrive dead (indicating they've been sitting on a shelf for years).

But still this is a site to watch for good deals: 2 mini flexible tripods $5 shipped, 2 LED color changing facet attachments $5 shipped, automatic skeleton watch $55 shipped, etc.

I've bought 2 items from them. Items were OK but took at 10 days for one and 3 weeks for the other. Just not up to Woot caliber.

I have bought several items from them. All acceptable.
The largest purchase, literally and $'s, was a Sony 40 or 42" TV.
There was a problem with it and they sent me, via email, a return label and PAID for it to be returned.
THEY GAVE ME A FULL REFUND AND LET ME KEEP, FOR MY INCONVENIENCE, THE THREE FREE HDMI CABLES THAT CAME WITH IT.
Bottom line: Usually good deals (This is the internet, due diligence is easy. Click that mouse.) and they stand behind their sales.

My only gripe was the difficulty in locating their toll-free number. It took a few days of phone calls, persistence, and off-line research to get it. But they do answer it and respond to concerns. They make it difficult in order to encourage you to go their preferred route of email.

I check 1s1d every day, and have purchased twenty items so far this year. Some good deals on nice items, and some cheap carp. Their really inexpensive items are ''FREE + $5 shipping''. My biggest purchase from them was a little over $250. I trust them. Shipping can be a little slow sometimes, but the stuff always shows up. The information on their product pages can be a little sparse, but there's no misleading B.S. on their site.

Even if I don't find something I like, I read the corny joke of the day just in case it's funny.

Looks like a deal. About half price.

Notice that this camera has ONLY a 4x DIGITAL ZOOM, NO OPTICAL zoom. I would not touch this with a ten foot pole.

vote-for2vote-against

Folks, it is so cheap because it is a SLAVE flash. It's triggered by the light from your onboard camera flash. It's a nice one, though, as it can interpret the rapid flashing a digital camera will do in order to try to auto-focus on a subject in dim light.

@Compjunkie: Agreed. Plus, they charge more for shipping; they are slow to ship; and they aren't upfront about the warranty... and no SquareTrade warranty availability either!

This is perfect for me, I have two SB600 flashes that I use through umbrellas as my main forward flashes, but need something cheap and basic to add behind the subject for some hair/rim lighting. Getting other high end SB's at $250-400 was just not an option for me for such basic behind the subjectlighting.. but these are perfect! Nabbed two for 30 bucks and I'm done.. now off to make some homemade snoots with cardboard and drinking straws!

I've bought from these guys several times - including a TomTom, watch, etc. All I've gotten has worked fine and been as described.
