I have a minivan that we can't clear the title on, I can't sell it and can't donate it - so I have this same one to keep the battery alive for those rare times I use it.

@matthalbig: A little excited are we? I have this to keep the battery for my travel trailer charged. I wouldn't want to go on a trip in the mountains, where there's no electric, and have a dead battery. Gotta have my radio and sometimes the TV. And I wouldn't want the trailer hooked up to the truck all the time while we're camping because of a dead battery.

@landimal: I have a answer to your "problem" why not just leave the keys in it in a "bad neighborhood". Make sure you have insurance in case the guy that steals the car, crashes it and sues you for not properly keeping up the brakes.

Just make sure to turn down any money from insurance. Just tell them it was worthless! I am sure they would be happy. Problem solved and no laws broken.
