@sportster25: Thanks for noting. I added it!
I asked this on a deal way back and was told that it's only 110v (and not 220v) can anyone confirm this?
Good thing when the iphone 5 comes out this won't fit with it. Gotta love those port changes. Yes they're giving people an adapter (supposedly) but when the product requires the phone to fit in it perfectly, probably isn't going to work too well.
@andrasko15:
They do that to give you the privilege of buying a whole new set of add-ons.
@andrasko15: you don't actually need to plug this in to use it. It works wirelessly via bluetooth. Though you won't be able to charge it while using it (suppose it won't fit)
Did anyone else think "Bananaphone" while reading the little blurb in the sponsored deal tab?
@rom: confirmed that this is 110v
I'd be more impressed with it being a "retro" phone if it had rotary dial.
If you really want to complete the "illusion:" http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iretrophone-rotary-dialer/id284700702?mt=8
@lparsons42: There's an app for that:
@thunderthighs: beat me to it lol!
THUNDERTHIGHS!
Faster than the average thighs!
I don't get why anyone would want this. So you can pretend you are using an old-timey phone?
Most docks don't fit a iPhone with an otterbox.
I wonder if this one will?
That thing really work.
...Yet fractionally slower than a super llama.
Since thunder is slower than lightning (it's just physics, Miss Thighs; no reflection on you personally), I therefore conclude that super llamas approach the speed of light! They could probably exceed it on a bicycle...
What's that? You believe otherwise? Prove it! Yeah, that's what I thought.
@colbytitus: I want one because my house is a black hole for cell coverage. There's a few places that I can get reception, but if I move around while I talk things get garbled all to hell. With this, I'll be able to leave the phone where the reception is good and wander around the house as I please.
Has anyone every had one of these? The reviews on Amazon aren't great.
I'm mostly impressed w/ the floating hand set. Now that's technology!
I bought one off woot and had to return it because it wouldn't connect to my iphone. the replacement works fine, but it was a hassle getting it replaced by woot. It's very cool as a charger and the bluetooth headset connects to 2 iphones and a wall jack.
@thunderthighs: Of course there is. Silly me, why didn't I think of that.
Although even with a rotary-dial app, you still don't get the tactile response of sticking your finger in the hole, turning the dial at the right speed to register the number, etc. Good but not complete, IMHO.
In other words, some things just can't be done by software alone.
