Apple - $50 iTunes Gift Card - D6000LL/A for $40 + free shipping
$50 iTunes giftcard from BestBuy for $40. Free shipping too :)
Probably a silly question, but I've never used an iTunes gift card, so here we go.
Will this work in the app store or for in-app purchases?
@thedogma: yes. You enter the gift card code and your account get populated with the dollar amount.
It does for for in app purchases becasue it just puts a balance on your account.
FYI: It only let me buy 3 so I guess there is a purchase limit.
UPDATE: I was able to order a second set of 3 in a separate order.
Sorry, but now I am confused. Are you saying that I can purchase something within an App (i.e. eBay, Buy.com) or pay a bill that at a company I have an app for (i.e. American Express) with the balance on my iTunes card? I know I can buy apps and music with it, but have never heard that I can buy something within an app with it. How would that work?
Thanks.
@janiscor: No, you can use the iTunes gift card for purchases at the iTunes store (you can buy music, apps, games). You can't apply the balance to any other "store" or business.
@janiscor: The way I understand it now, you can apply this card to your account and buy an app, such as Plants v. Zombie. Lets say this app has a premium currency that's like $4.99 for 500 gold, or has something like "give us a dollar and remove ads." These are all things that this card would work on.
If, for instance, Gap has an iPhone app and you want to buy a pair of jeans, you'd still need to enter your credit card/ account info associated with that website. The card would not work on this sort of "in-app" purchase. Although in context, this wouldn't be what an "in-app purchase" refers to.
People who know better, did I get this right?
@janiscor: No . In-app purchases (like buying extra weapons on a game or cool ringtones through an app) will use your iTunes card balance. Basically, if the purchase goes through Apple's servers, you're all good. You'll know if it does if it asks you for your Apple ID password. If you're being taken from the app to a website out of the app, then it doesn't count.
You will not be able to pay your AMEX with this balance
The best part of this deal: I have had a 15 gift card for almost a year wondering what I would buy at Best Buy with it. Boom! 50 itunes cash for 25 bucks!
Since we're fielding Q and A's right now. Can you use iTunes giftcards on purchasing Apple Products, like a n iPad? I've never seen an Apple giftcard, so I thought it might work.
In for 3.
@shmingland4u: no, you need an apple store gift card for apple products. iTunes GC is strictly for apps, music, ibooks, videos.
@722lad: Thanks, I knew I could count on folks more knowledgable than I about this stuff.
@thedogma: Thanks for the info. I already have a balance of over $50 in my iTunes acct, so maybe I'll pass.
@jmartinezrivera: Appreciate your prompt reply. Thanks for the info.
thanks. bought 2 and picked up in store. Purchased season 3 od The Walking Dead immediately after loading the giftcards in iTunes. You rock Op.
looks like it's dead now
Damn, it looks like this deal is expired. It says it's now 50 bucks, though it does still show it being 40 in the page that has all the different iTunes cards. Oh well....
