is this like a syfy channel version of "The Avengers" or was it actually called the Avangers and I just didn't notice?

I don't purchase many movies these days, but I seem to remember these 3 & 4 disc combo packs usually go on sale for around $25 to $30 during the release week. I think I'll wait and see for this one as $34.99 does seem like a deal.

I don't see how this is a deal. It's more of a notification that it's available ... for pre-order. I never buy movies when they first come out, most of the time they drop in price in a couple months or they go on sale.

you really end up getting this version for 29.99 because of the coupon which is a deal becuase the 3d blu rays are normally up there in price

vote-for3vote-against

@mthiggins: It's not a bad price as it includes the 3D version besides the Blur-ray, DVD and digital copy. In any event Amazon does offer price protection on pre-orders and you could cancel anytime before it's ready to be shipped. You also get the $5 off bringing the price down to $29.99 until 6/7.

They are making sequels to all the main movies, IronMan 3, Thor 2, just wait till they stop making them then get the mega release pack.

There is a $5 coupon, making the total checkout price $29.99, not $34.99. Not bad for release day of a Blu-Ray, 3D Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital combo pack - I paid more seeing it in theaters with my wife. Maybe because we saw it twice in 3D.

Are these all on separate media? It's not a bad deal if it's a dividable resource. Blu-ray for me, DVD for my best friend and digital copy for another friend. 3D copy for....I have no idea what I would do with a 3D copy. Is it viewable on a regular TV with 3D glasses, or do you need one of the new 3D tvs no one I know plans to ever buy to use it?

@moondrake: Just to add on. It seems the 10 disc set will come in the Tesseract suitcase...*drools

@chypher: thanks, I thought the 34.99 was including the coupon.

vote-for2vote-against

@mthiggins Amazon does have a pre-order price guarantee, so if the price does go down before it releases they automatically bill you the lower price. That coupled with the $5 coupon is a pretty good deal.

vote-for2vote-against

@moondrake: . . . except that what you're talking about is technically illegal (unless you're giving them away I suppose).

@emperorchow: Tag says "avangers" . . . That's what pezzltj was referring to.

vote-for2vote-against

@rayray8822: Yes, giving them away was the plan. I live alone, I certainly don't need the same material in four different formats. I have a lot of friends who are not as well off as I am, some haven't even seen the movie in the theater yet because they can't afford it. I give them my DVDs as I replace them with blu-rays. If I purchased a set with both blu-ray and DVD, I'd give away the DVD and feel like I'd made a good deal because I was able to share it.
