You can use promo code GET3MP3S for a $3 credit and get the album for free:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?tag=cheapassgam08-20&docId=1000634471&ref=tsm_1_fb_dmget3mp3s_20101122

There's a lot of other $1.99 albums that you can get for free also.

Darkside is a great album at any price. Just do yourself a favor and listen to the album in the proper order. This is a concept album, it was intended to be listened through in order from beginning to end. No shuffle.

@zollars23: Not only must you play it all the way through in order, you have to play it while watching "The Wizard of Oz", repeating as necessary to get to the end of the movie.

I've had this CD for years, and already ripped it into MP3 format.
If the file gets corrupted, I'll just rip it again.
It will take less time than to download the darned thing.

Oh, and gnuman, don't you have to start the album at the right time?
When Dorothy crashes onto the Wicked Witch?

I was contemplating buying this but shipping on mp3's is usually a deal killer. But then I read the post again and it says, "+ free shipping"! Can't pass it up now.

Free shipping for a download? Well thank God for that. I'm getting tired of paying those high shipping rates for digital downloads

@wolf68k: Amen, adding FS to a download listing is one of my pet peeves.

Start the album at the 3rd lion's roar (in the MGM "logo"), and you should be good to go. Just remember to "continuous play" (but no shuffle), 'cause it takes a couple times through the album to get to the end of the movie.

@9voice9:
Ah! That's what it was.

The one where you start in the middle of the movie is with Rush 2112 and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
When Gene Wilder goes to grab his walking stick coming out of the factory. ;)

@killjoy: I've had the cd for about 20 years, ripped it about 8 years ago, plus I have it on vinyl, too. But, if someone is just curious about PF, for $2 you can't go wrong.

I used to be a big fan of Pink Floyd, but with their recent anti-Israel comments I can't see supporting them financially.

Nice... I accidentally bought it before I put in the code, thinking I could put it in after I bought it. However, I just got another less than three dollar album... soo huzzah.

Got it, and an extra thanks for the $3 coupon to make it free!

@duderawk: wtf are you talking about?
1st, the term "their" doesn't even make any sense since "They" are not even together as a band anymore and haven't been for a long time

2nd, I just saw Roger Waters The Wall Live in Dallas and the Star of David was right their along with the Christian Crucifix, The dollar sign, the Soviet Union symbol, Mercedes and Shell Oil logo's falling from a bomber in "Goodbye Blue Sky". If thats anti-Israel, then someone has their panties on a little too tight and needs to grow a pair....

@commodog The spelling police are not allowed to issue citations on Cyber-Monday.

Btw, I find it humorous that the spelling police isn't even aware of the meaning imagery that he saw, or the anti-Israel comments of the artist that he was listening to:

@duderawk: I didn't correct your spelling, I corrected the fact that you said "they" as in the band Pink Floyd. Roger Waters is by himself and his show is his own opinions, not that of the bands.

If you read the link I put in my post, Roger Waters himself explains the imagery that he created for the show. He said: "The point I am trying to make in the song is that the bombardment we are all subject to by conflicting religious, political, and economic ideologies only encourages us to turn against one another, and I mourn the concommitant loss of life. "

Now, if you want to read the opinion of an Israeli news site who takes comments from a 2006 article and tries to link it to imagery on a current concert tour to further its agenda, then go ahead. It's your right. Just don't call the band racist.
