I own one. This thing is a beast. Has been able to run every game I've thrown at it so far, the newest being Deus Ex: Human Revolution. And the battery life has been averaging 7 hours.

@jai151: I would've gotten one if it weren't so heavy. I have to carry my laptop around all day, so I got a fast Toshiba Portege.

doesn't seem to work...

It works, just get rid of that parentheses. So the code to get $315 off is 7958DCMT1JP?B6

Unless you're going to plug it in to an external monitor, I wouldn't recommend gaming on an 11" lappy. There will be rage.

I have one of these (R3). Awesome power for a laptop the size of a netbook. One problem with this one is that it only has a Nvidia 335m and not the newer 540m. This looks to be the older version (R2) and not the R3.

This seems to be the Alienware M11x R1

@anubis89: Based on the processor (i7-640) it's an R2. It's definitely not a R1 as they didn't offer the i7 until R2.

@kidincredible: Thank you for correcting me. I was literately going to edit my post as I just got off a chat with dell. And they confirm it was an R2.

wait a second, this thing doesnt have a cd/dvd drive?

Call me a troll if you want, but buy this computer and consider yourself warned. If you have an issue with it, Dell will find a way to ship you a new computer. Ask them if that's "Certified New" and they'll say "No, it would be refurbished". Their customer service teams are professional time-wasters (your time), and you'll actually have to pay them to waste your time if it's deemed a "software" issue.

Think I'm kidding? Here's just one of infinite blogs: http://www.badsoftware.com/alienwaresucks/ about how bad Dell is at owning-up to their problems.

This is a netbook people not a laptop. It will not have CD Drives. If you want games on this thing and never invested in steam, now's the time, or you are going to need to buy a USB reader.

Next off it is a little slugger of a laptop as well. It can run games like Deus Ex:HR on about Medium Graphics(anything more and its gonna be laggy). Don't expect games like BF:3 to run well on it at all. Crysis even on low isn't as smooth as one would hope(as a comparison)

To be honest I will call this a "casual" gaming laptop. If you are looking for an affordable gaming laptop either step it up to the x15 or be prepared to be disappointed.

Correct, due to it's size there is no cd/dvd rom - you will need an external one in order to use dvd/cd to load software, movies, etc.

I have one, an older version, and it's still freakin awesome, i do alot of travel and it's perfect on airplanes. even my 2 year old m11x model still plays todays games with no problem - and if you need a lil extra viewing area, it has hdmi out to connect to a monitor or tv.

highly recommended for gamers - casual users or non gamers have cheaper options.

It's direct from Dell and they are brand new, i ordered mine just yesterday. Came up to $845 delivered inc tax.
It's just a $315 coupon code for the site http://m11xcoupon.com/
