Whistler Cordless Radar Detector for $59.99
because you know you speed, and you can't have a cord hanging in front of your windshield when you're cruising down the interstate at 130 mph...
In all seriousness, I have one that also has the safety alert feature; it'll pick up on fire/police/ambulance light-locking radar and warn you to get to the side of the road far before you'll see the lights or hear their sirens. pretty neat.
Just tried this out today. Does NOT work on photo radar vans in PHX. drove right past one and it didn't make a sound or register anything. VERY disappointed. Anyone know of one that works on photo radar please let me know. thanks.
@jaronaz: photo radar? This sounds even worse than laser. I bought a great Whistler cordless from woot a year or so ago. Works very well, although the rechargeable batteries wore out awfully fast. Ended up using the cord because I'm lazy. When driving "on wing" with my husband, my Whistler picks up signals faster than his older Passport.
We don't even have this photo radar i the midwest yet...at least I haven't heard of it.
I believe this model is the same as or similar to the model that was about $10 cheaper on sellout.woot.com the other day. I can't recall, though.
@perkalicious11: Yes, the one on sellout.woot.com is the one I purchased. I believe this is the same as well.
I purchased the Sellout.Woot offering on 11/20/09. Recently traveled Houston to College Station to Austin to San Antonio, to Houston. Had the Passport and Whistler running in Tandom. The Whistler performed miserably. It is constantly false alarming, unless the Passport is on Alarm, then it is silent. When the Passsport alarmed, I saw a peace officer. My experience is, so far, a piece of junk.
