how do you kill something that is already dead?

hmm... no details on the metallurgy, and notches to help it.. um... get stuck? yeah, not something I'd consider trusting my life on in the event of a zombiepocalypse

@bfrick2: I agree with your statement, such a weapon would not be preferred
against zombies. If it cannot take the head off in one swift swing then its not worth having. A blunt but not excessive in weight weapon weapon would be much better. (The weight issue is due to not wanting to grow tired beyond defending yourself)

BudK is nice for the on the wall but when you actually try and use the stuff it breaks pretty easily. I know I wouldn't want my blade snapped half-way through a zombie's brain stem.

Anything that gets you within arms length of Mr. Z is NOT a killing machine...unless you're talking about killing yourself... 12 gauge shotgun, flame thrower, H.E. grenades, a chain gun....THESE are killing machines. THIS? This is fancy pig-sticker that'll get your eaten in the zombipocalypse to come.

@toddrainer: A Flame thrower is ineffective at best and catastrophic at worst. Fire + Zombies doesn't equal dead Zed, just makes for flaming zombies spreading fire and still trying to eat your tasty tasty brains.

Beyond that, it is important to have a melee weapon in the Zombie Apocalypse, but make sure its something that is durable and useful in more scenarios than combat. Like the Halligan Tool.

You people aren't using the same flame throwers I am. Just ask the Japs on Tarawa and Iwo Jima about how dead they are. And a modern flame thrower hits with about as much force at 50' as a .38 cal bullet, enough to knock a Zed off his/her/its feet. And they're real nice when you find the den of zombies and just don't want to risk going in to get them all.

I'll say again, anything that gets you within arms length of Mr. Z is good only for getting one's self munched. I'd use THIS 26" short sword to cut cheese and and bologna and that's about it. Otherwise, I'm looking for ranged weapons.

@graalknght: awww u beat me to it. i got an Apokatana on my wall. used it to cut a frozen side of beef with no problems and it didnt nick on the bones.

Anyone who thinks something like this is good for hacking off zombie limbs and heads hasn't had any actual experience dismembering bodies in a hurry. As light as this sword surely is, it either needs to be longer, or shaped differently. Get a heavy parang and you will never go back to cutting peoples hands off with whatever junk you are using now.

I am officially tired of zombie crap on my deals site. We get it, we've ALL seen horror movies, really. Its not that fascinating.

My preferred tool for killing zombies is the Immuri, a left hand and a right hand Remington 1100 shotguns welded together with 1 trigger and using Malay loads *(1/2 oz. rifled slug, 4 00 buck and 1/4 oz. #9 shot)with combat magazine extensions it holds 22 rounds if you chamber 2 and fires 2 barrels at once, however it wakes the other zombies, I have a Katana but that requires two hands to use effectively, this product (durability and longevity) it allows you to use both hands as weapons and just like the Katana allows for enough speed to actually cut. Silence is golden, enuff said.

I have a Springfield M1A1.......nothing gets close enough to need a sword

skeptical of anodized stainless steel. Take a wack at a zombie with it..and it might snap and have half the blade go through your arm. But.. a great price.
