How reliable are these things?

I have their Sega clone, and it has taken a beating from my kids and has kept working without issue

I wish these things had an HDMI output. No, I don't wish it outputted 720P, I just wish I could actually connect this to my TV which only has VGA, BNC and HDMI inputs. Do TV's even have S-Video jacks anymore?

@cavimike: If your TV has BNC connectors, you should be able to buy a simple RCA to BNC adapter at any Radio Shack for a few bucks. You're not going to get the greatest image out of it but it should work.

This will not play all games. I had one of these, but i upgraded to a 3 in one console (NES, SNES, Genesis) and I gave this to my brother. He has had problems trying to get the Super mario RPG working, and I had problems with some NES games. It plays most games but just be aware~

@stabnwswd: LMAO the only reason I would buy this system is to play that game again because its amazing and I was JUST thinking about it, nowww i cant buy it because I would have been pissed!

I returned 2 of them to Amazon. One wouldn't play the NES and the second wouldn't play the SNES. Good luck!

@jayrookie:
lawl i have mario rpg on the snes emulator on my phone XD

@stabnwswd: I don't think any clone system plays Mario RPG. Castlevania 3 on the NES requires an original Nintendo made hardware as well.

Meh. Build a mini PC and emulate every console out there. Plus you can do things like save games whenever you want etc. And I say this as someone who grew up with and currently owns all those old consoles.

Just buy the new game that's coming out on the WII that has Mario 1,2,3 and Lost Levels for $29.99 that comes out on December 12th

I bought one of these 2 years ago or so, and I've really liked mine. I haven't had a problem with it playing any games. Great for nostalgia. Lots of the good old games are on the Wii now, so the same fun can be had with a classic controller, but some aren't. My personal favorite that I use the Retro Duo to play is Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball.

I saw one of these at the National Youth Worker Convention and played Tecmo Super Bowl on it and it worked like a charm. I would really like to get one but I'm starting to strap my cash for the Holidays.

I've got one of these, but $33 isn't really a special price. That's about what I paid on Amazon over a year ago when I bought it. It worked for about all of my games, but the NES sound was pretty bad, and the SNES part actually had noticeable slow-down sometimes. I actually ended up getting an NES and SNES because of those niggling issues, but I can see most people being perfectly happy with this device.

I have one of these types of machines I found at Vintage Stock, but ti plays NES, SNES, and Sega games (says it plays four game types but i can't figure out what the fourth is supposed to be). Love the system, but the controller cords were epically short.

Does this mean i can play pac-man and PHALANX at the same time?!?!

vote-for0vote-against

I'd hate to play on that thing... I mean c'mon look at that cord length. 3" no thx lol jk I'm in for one

Standard price, they don't tell you that it's over 12.00 shipping. It will show that you can use their "das economic" shipping option for half that, then they'll charge you the 12 and change for the "das expidite" shipping anyways. So for 45 dollars (the same price) you can get the same thing from amazon, ebay, etc..... I canceled my order, this site is shady.
