Good price, but I'm surprised the game is already at $40 on release day....

@czarkingkaiser: It's a sale price with the above coupon code. Not like it's doing much right now though, because NewEgg shows it as being sold-out. :/ Unless they're just have it marked as such now (due to its "Street date" being today) and will have it available later on.

Fair warning to buyers: every review I have read says the game completely and totally stinks.

vote-for12vote-against

@durkzilla: maybe they should have kept it in development longer...

@ustafat: That seems impossible the game just released, that claims to be the PC version on top of it. What would be the point in buying a used PC game with a already used cd-key?

@ustafat: Used Steam Version available on release day?

Seriously, Steam doesn't allow resale of licenses. Seriously.

I smell a Rip Off!!!!

it's because the game is (mod edit: profanity)

@durkzilla: This game is so long overdue, that there was no chance whatsoever of it to live up to expectations. It could have been the greatest game ever imagined and people would still trash it because we waited so long for it.

On top of that you have people errantly comparing it to serious FPS games, which this is not. Obviously this game makes no sense in comparison to Halo 7 or Half Life 9. This game will be underappreciated for a long time to come because nobody makes games like this one anymore. Whether it is a good thing or not that all the FPS games are serious is an open question...

vote-for2vote-against

I really hope it's not (mod edit: profanity) since I bought it on steam last week. If you purchased it early on steam it was $45. $50 is standard price for PC games. Why are people jumping to conclusions that just since there are sale prices that the game is bad? Play it first then you can give your opinion.

Anyone have a link to the system requirements for this?

vote-for0vote-against

there is a demo online you can install and make sure it runs, also you can go to system requirements lab and run a test for the game

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/reviews/2011/06/duke-nukem-forever-review-barely-playable-unfunny-and-rampantly-offensive.ars

A game, where the reviewer states: "Every time I put the controller down, I felt the need to rub my hands on my jeans as if the game were making me physically dirty." makes me not want to play it...

I don't know about you sheep, but I formulate my own opinions based on my own experiences. Play the game and decide for yourself. The game is meant to be a a humorous FPS and extremely vulgar, you don't like it? Go back to playing WoW or Halo.

@totmur: So you just buy every game you see and hope it doesn't suck? That seems like a good way to waste a lot of money.

vote-for1vote-against

@shadowsoze: See, that makes me want to play it once, at least, just to see where I rank on the "How easily offended?" meter!

I waited 12 years for this game, and preordered the Balls of Steel Edition at $89. I got the demo at midnight on the first day it was available to the "First Access Club."

After playing the demo, I canceled my order. It's not very good.

I will, however, pick it up one of these days when Steam is offering it for $5 or so.....

@zorg50: I buy every game I am interested in. I am a consumer, that is what consumers do. So far I have yet to buy a game I dislike, including Duke Nukem Forever.

Holy god this game is disapointing. What a horrible waste of my money.
