Actually been wanting something like this. I'll try it out. Got one for me, son, bro... FYI: If you buy 4, the 4th is free.

Buy 3 and get one free? Well, in that case count me in! I'm going to set up my dashboard like a cockpit with multi-smartphone displays rocking all around what the EMT's will calmly refer to as my corpse. Woop! Woop!

i have one of those dashboard sticky pads. The only difference is that it doesnt hold my phone up but thats what i have a cupholder for.

vote-for1vote-against

great idea, but not $20 worth

vote-for1vote-against

Yeah, but can you pull up your GPS on your phone and still see it in your cup holder? This is totally what I need. Now I really CAN use my iPhone as a GPS unit and not have to hold it. Count me in for the Buy 4, get the 4th Free!

this'll be on meritiline or any of the other direct from china sites for much cheaper soon enough.

@cappomutato: I second that....$20 might seem like a great deal now, but when you have the pen lodged in your eye ball after an accident I'm sure you will feel foolish.

Actually, I've purchased from HandStands before and all their Sticky Pad products are patented, so you may see this product on other major channels, but the price isn't going to change much.

I've purchased several of their flat Sticky Pads which work great, but I'm going to like this new design so I can see my phone easier...not for calls, but to use the GPS function.

I lost my flat Hand Stand sticky pad. (Typing this, that strikes me as an absurd statement. How do you lose a dashboard sticky pad? Honestly, I have no idea. I guess if I knew, it wouldn't be lost.)

Anywho, I really liked that product, and if I had $20 to spend right now, I'd probably give this a try. I hate my GPS unit's mount with a passion, and I'd love to have something to use with my phone's GPS.

They're also going to suggest you move the thing around a bit, otherwise, as your dash fades, you'll have a nice, unfaded spot where this thing lives. Of course, there's only one spot on my dash where things like this will sit right, so think about that, too.

would this work for both a phone like the BB Storm 2 AND a Garmin GPS? I'd like something multi-use and don't want suction cups

vote-for1vote-against

@w00tgurl: It probably depends on the shape of your dashboard. It's made so that it curves and thus opens the v-slot holder. The more curved the dash, the fatter the device it will hold. So if it's a thin garmin, it might hold it.

Ok, so how did they get the Maps app to display in landscape? Photoshop? I've been waiting for this feature for a while now...

vote-for1vote-against

so... anybody scoured the interwebs and found something much cheaper thats exactly the same?

vote-for2vote-against

@killswitchdh: There are no equivalent products. We designed this a few months ago and just got stock in. This represents the launch of the product. You are amongst the first to see it. I've been testing it in my car and I LOVE it! w00t!

I really want/need one of these, but there's no way I'm spending $20 on one. Too bad.

@embhorn: Don't know about the landscape part but have you tried the MapQuest app? I love it because when you change to landscape it just gives you big signs as to what to do -- a right arrow road sign and then the miles until the turn. Or a highway sign for your next exit.

There has to be an insane mark-up on these. You can buy them as promotional items starting at $5.50 (and down from there depending on qty) with a $50 setup fee at https://www.thepromoagency.net/p-4508-roadster-sticky-pad-4508.aspx. It seems like a great, simple solution, but not worth anything near $20. My fancy spring-loaded, pivoting vent mount was less than $10, and this is just a piece of molded rubber!

Use Promotion Code 45JBYTEP to save another 20%. This saved another $3

@paulgrant: You would have to buy over 100 to get that $5.50 price.
