IHOP National Pancake Day - FREE Pancakes! Feb 5, 2013

Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP has raised more than $10 million to support charities in the communities in which it operates. On February 5, 2013, guests from around the country will once again celebrate National Pancake Day at IHOP and enjoy a free short stack of Buttermilk pancakes*. In return for the free pancakes, guests will be asked to consider leaving a donation for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals© or other designated local charities.
* There is a limit of one free short stack per guest. The offer is valid at participating restaurants for dine-in only while supplies last and is not valid with any other offer, special coupon or discount.
My local IHOP says the deal will run from 7AM to 10PM. Other IHOPs deal times may vary!
woot!
Maybe I'll just donate directly and skip the pile of naked carbs!
Who doesn't love free pancakes?!
The only IHOP near me is so damned slow that if I went there now I probably wouldn't have pancakes until the offer expires.
Unfortunately for the "International House Of Pancakes," there already is an international holiday at which pancakes are served. It marks the last day before the start of Lent. In this country, people usually refer to it as Mardi Gras. In the UK and other countries it is known as Shrove Tuesday, or more simply as Pancake Day.
It is exactly a week from today - FAIL.
@bione: Ummmm, exactly how does giving away a plate of pancakes and asking (not required) for a small donation and raising more than $10 million to support charities in local communities fail?
