It's a tough choice between BBC's Sherlock or Merlin. Both are fantastic shows which put to shame anything from the US. Great deal!
Good to see they're selling original Doctor Who series for relatively cheap. One thing that Netflix is missing.
For those who haven't seen "Only Fools And Horses" it is most definitely one of the funniest shows ever made! Brilliant! Highly recommended at this price.
@kanedax: Actually - Netflix just added 3 seasons of the old Doctor Who. Was amazed when I saw that in recently added under my queue.

@aknox077: Called "Classic Doctor Who" 1963 - First episode of 75 that they have is The Carnival of Monsters.
EDIT: Carnival of Monsters is the second episode of Season 10 which aired in 1972/73. So they are probably working on getting the other seasons before.
Really good deal for Sherlock, the Matt Smith Whos, not so much. Best Buy occasionally sells Series 5 and 6 for $22 a piece for the Blurays. In fact, they are right now, sold out online though. =(
Definitely going to snatch up Sherlock though, that's the best price I have seen them.
@celticsavan: Carnival of monsters has been available on Netflix for some time. Looks like these "Collections" 1-18 are the same stories they've been offering all along in a 'new packaging'. I looked through them all, it's all stuff they've had up for years.

British Sherlock is good. Each 'Season' is just three episodes of about 90 minutes. Netflix has them.
Each season consists up of 3 long (at least 1.1 hours each, excluding commercials)
episodes. There are two seasons so far. This allows each episode to be like a tv movie. In this case, the writers and the whole crew have had longer to write and rehearse. Plane quality entertainment.
edit: I'm bad, there was an unaired pilot. Making 7 episodes.

Not sure about the price being good, but Sherlock is a fantastic show. Get both seasons. It's only six 90 minute episodes total. You will love it.

Is Sherlock a series that CBSs Elementary is based on? If I I like Elementary, would I like Sherlock?
@jjeff: Many people would punch you just for making the comparison :) Sherlock is amazing... Elementary is meh... Both are simply modern versions of Sherlock Holmes
@jjeff: According to the creator of Sherlock, CBS talked to him about doing an American version, then he didn't hear anything for a while, and then they announced Elementary.
The six ninety-minute episodes are also available free with Amazon Prime streaming.
It's a great show. One of the things I like is that each episode name is a variation of an actually Sherlock Holmes story. They don't do a version of the story, but they use some element of it as a starting point.
My huuby just bought me Downtown Abby. He'll find out when I open it Christmas morn.

I just knew lots of the programming we get(produced in the US) seems to end with the BBC logo, just wasn't sure if Elementary was one of them.

IF YOU LIKE ANY SHERLOCK you will LOVE the BBC version I cant wait for season 3-I am not real impressed with CBS version the guy doesnt even have a descent british accent-he is cute though LOL-But give me a sexy man with a TRUE Brittish accent any day!

I admit to being struck by the "TL;DR" monster. we don't do Doctor Who...yeah, yeah, crucify us. Anything else here we should get excited about? we already own the first 2 "seasons" of Sherlock on DVD. And we own all Flying Circus, thanks to copies from the library. Anything else that we "must" see?
@jjeff: i actually don't mind Elementary so far, but it's not life changing. Sherlock, however, is GREAT. GREAT. GREAT. You should buy it. Or, at the very least, find your way to owning a copy. Seriously.
