Great find, especially on the 3G keyboard. Thanks!

The last thing I want to do is sign-in to see a deal

If you haven't played around with a Kindle 3G keyboard model, this might be a good opportunity. We have two of them (and a Fire) and we're thrilled with all three.

The biggest advantage of the non-Fire Kindles is the white screen. It's not backlit (you'll need a light to read in the dark) but it's by far the clearest, best-reading screen available.

@thenewlight: 1saleaday is very reputable. Do not worry about signing up with them. I consider them 2nd to WOOT! as the daily sale sites.

@morriea: No offence or personal jab here but I find "reputable" a lofty term for a site that has the retail prices listed so much higher than the actual prices you get these new direct from the manufacturer. Just my two cents...

vote-for8vote-against

@morriea: Uh..."2nd Woot" might be a bit strong but 1saleaday.com has been around for a while now so perhaps I'll give you reputable.

More importantly though, I totally agree with @thenewlight. I think having to sign up/sign in with any site just to see if you are even interested in their deal(s) is just bad form. It's kind of disturbing that even suggesting otherwise gets downvotes.

@floggeriffic: Their retail prices are original (at some point in time) retail prices. Don't forget, retail is NOT necessarily MSRP. Manufacturer can say it's worth a certain price, but what it can/has sold for can be much higher. Yes, they seem quite obscure for SOME of them, but nonetheless... look at the friggin price you're actually paying! Are you worried about the number they crossed out that means nothing to you? Or are you worried about the bottom line??

For the kindle 3G with keyboard... Wikipedia says Original introductory price of that model was $399!

vote-for2vote-against

@floggeriffic: Gotta agree with you. They list the retail price for the el cheapo kindle as $225.00, with a whopping 72% off. Last time I was on Amazon, it was $79.99, not $225.

As I recall, you can get a Kindle Fire for less than $200 brand new.

These may be getting a lot cheaper soon since Target has dropped the Kindle, and reviews are not great compared to the new Nook with light. There were a few news articles out yesterday on this very subject.

all of this companys sites, 1saleaday, dynamitetime, bensoutlet, do the % off trick but you do get exactly whats in the description. I have ordered alot over years never had an order problem and they ship quickly. Just do your own research over price as not all bargains are what they appear to be. That said, I did just buy the kindle keyboard 3G. Not a great deal but says a couple of bucks and I really wanted a 3G kindle.

I bought my Kindle "Keyboard" 3g when it was still simple "the Kindle, with 3g", as a refurb direct from Amazon. I paid $139, when the retail price was $199. If I was in the market for another KK I'd be in for one, as $70 strikes me as a pretty decent deal. The lowest price for this model on my local Craigslist is currently $80.

MSRP is generally completed overpriced. Not sure if companies actually think they're ever going to get that price or not.
Here's a thought though -- how is this different from Overstock (O.co)? Many deal websites do this.
Again, as other's posted, just jump out to Amazon and do a price check to see if it's worth it.
As for the logging in, the other sections of the site are open -- it's just the flash deals that require you to login -- not a big deal in my opinion -- if you don't want to login, don't. Just means that you won't be buying from them.

These are refurbs, but it doesn't say by whom. I will note that the warranty (again, through Amazon or the site?) is only 90 days. The refurbed Kindle DX I bought from Woot in December had a 12 month warranty. Which was useful, as the screen totally crapped out in March and Amazon sent me a new one.

I'm guessing "factory refurbished" means by Amazon's factory, but we can't know for certain.

As for the price of the Kindle, $64, it's not as bad as it seems. These do not appear to be ad supported. A non ad-supported Kindle is going for $109 new. Please remember that when bashing 1 Sale a Day. ^_^

And I'll just leave this here:

What I find more interesting is the "Kobo Pocketreader." Kobo does not sell a product called the Pocketreader. Their color reader is the Vox. This leaves two possibilities:

1.) It's a Kobo product that never went into full production, or hasn't been officially released yet

2.) Kobo doesn't make it, it's a Chinese Android tablet that runs Kobo software (more likely)

Perhaps it's a tiny $50 Android tablet? Claims to have multitouch, so capacitive screen. Dunno...

Seriously, I can't even see the deal without signing up? Screw that...

@gmwhit: Agreed, in for 1. Hard to beat free lifetime 3G.

Anyone else receive the wrong item? I ordered a 3G keyboard and instead got a 3G touch (with ads). If I send it back (apparently at my expense) they'll refund my money but not give me the 3G keyboard. I may just keep it as the touch was actually more expensive than the one I ordered.

@johnfbeas: The Kindle I got was all scratched up (bezel and screen). It was definitely not refurbished. It was still registered to the previous owner with all her books and Kindle store access.
