Nice find -- I posted one of these a while back, but the price I found wasn't quite as low, despite searching. Thanks for posting!

There are Nikon 24-70 and Canon 70-200 versions around too.

Put a double shot of espresso in that and you got yourself a true "zoom" lens!

Anyone know how many ounces?

Uhh, Dad?? Yeah, I had a little mishap with your camera last night, but all is not lost.. "Waste not, want not!" is what you always told me. Here's a coffee mug for you, and hey, I've got a new purse mirror!

I wonder how tightly the cap seals... Could be a great way to smuggle adult beverages into sporting events and the like. Man I need help. ;)

love the disclaimer: "It's a model replica CUP, and not an actual Lens"

vote-for2vote-against

why would one waste their time developing something like this?!?!?!?

vote-for3vote-against

@meckmeck: So people can use it for things like @mrhattrick17's genius idea. Also, practical jokes...and just so you can go to Starbucks and drink out of an effin camera lens, for the sole reason of making people say "wtf" when they see you drinking from a lens.

I was gonna post this awhile back too, not sure if it was the same lens, but this price is better either way...

@jeremytheindian: Actual K-Mount lenses for Pentax are low enough in price you could just make one - of course you won't have the snobiness of CaNikon users.........

@meckmeck: Because everybody needs coffee mugs, so they might as well be fun. My wife is a pro photographer and she's going to enjoy the looks on people's faces when she "accidentally" knocks it off a table...

Focus, you guys! I can't believe I have to expose Meckmeck's camera pun.

The Nikon 24-70 version is at dealextreme.com for $21.50 with free shipping...

I think these are pretty cool but I'm a little concerned at how safe these are to drink hot beverages from. I mean, it's plastic right? High BPAs, lead in the paint, all that crap makes me nervous.

@a4tis: The item I posted looks like it's all plastic, but the links to dealextreme posted by navann above looks like some of them have stainless steel insides.

bought this for a friend recently (paid the full $30, gah!). the quality is really great!

to answer some of the questions: the lid is not tight (doesn't seal, isn't watertight). also, the inside is lined with stainless steel, so they're fine to drink out of.
