Amazon Cloud Player App for iPhone & Android + a $1 mp3 credit
Android: http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-com-Amazon-MP3/dp/B004FRX0MY/
iPhone: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amazon-cloud-player/id510855668
$1 Credit only applies to Android App since there is no way to buy iPhone apps through amazon, but hey, at least there is finally an App..
Get $1 for MP3s with Purchase of Select Free Apps
Customers who purchase select free apps from the Amazon Appstore will receive a $1 credit to spend in the Amazon MP3 Store.
Not for iPhone...you can play Amazon songs on iPhone but there is no Amazon Cloud Player for iPhone as far as I could tell :(
@mlhenry: ...did you read the post? There's a direct link to the app for the iPhone...
There wasn't an app for iphone...until today. Now there is :o) See how nice that works!
Sweet! I used the $1 extra credit to buy the new Metric album.
So I noticed that (like with Android) it gives you the option to download your music from the cloud to local device. WARNING: This will not save the music in such a way that you can play it from the standard Music app, it will only let you play it in the Amazon MP3 app. Still, better than not being able to play them on the iPhone at all, it just means when I get home I'll need to redownload the album from the Cloud and import into iTunes the normal way.
Great stuff -- thanks so much OP!
I adore this app on my HTC Evo 4G (not that I have 4G in po dunk SE AZ, but I digress). The only thing I don't like is the lag if I try to listen straight from my cloud without a good signal. So I dl what I want to my phone, play from device and we're all good. :-)
Awesome. Now they just need to make a viewer app for their Amazon Instant Video service. I'm not sure why they don't since it would probably be devastating to Netflix.
Definitely going to have to investigate when I get home. If I can have my entire iTunes library on a mobile device...that'd be a dream.
Data usage would go through the roof though xD
It's worth noting that if you've ever used the Amazon App Store, even if you no longer use it, you can still get the credit by simply clicking download on the site. Not sure what happens if you never used it.
Amazon just posted a code for $2 credit to their MP3 store to "get you started on your iPhone"
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=tsm_1_fb_s_dm_m5hbho?ie=UTF8&gcIsProcess=1&gcpcCode=MP3S4ALL&docId=1000808631#gc
Its one of their regular code offers, so anyone is eligible to redeem it.
Get $2 in MP3s with code MP3S4ALL
Is this the same credit they gave for getting a free app a couple of days ago?
@starbob: you get $1 for "buying" a free app, then you can use the code to get an additional $2
@starbob: It seems that you cant get multiple $1 app credits.
I downloaded the Sudoku app a few days ago, and today bought the $1 Office app and this app and didnt get a new credit.
But the $2 MP3S4ALL is separate from that.
Thanks for posting this. I tried looking for an Amazon Cloud Player app for the iPhone a couple of weeks back, and I couldn't believe that they didn't have one yet. Not that big of a deal, but when I decided to buy my next albums from Amazon instead of iTunes, I had expected for there to be comparable software.
Anyway, I think I'll test it out now with that new code. Thanks again for posting this one. =)
Where do you enter the $2 code at?
