PC only. Bummer. I would have bought it if they had it for xbox.

vote-for1vote-against

aww man. I would've got it if it was for xbox too! Got excited for nothing :(

Awesome, in for 3! (Ok, just one. XD)

worth every penny of the $5 i paid during a steam sale. A must play for any 3rd person shooter fans

You have to provide EA with a bunch of personal data including birth date. Read the user agreement for an eye-opener re: tracking cookies, embedded clear tags, etc.. They get much more than $5 worth of marketing data. But, if this doesn't bother you, go for it.

@klbengts: If you wanna look at it from that point of view...99% of anything that requires an 'account' gets oooodles more than $5 of marketing dollars...

But, you can always LIE. :D

drchops: I know you are right. I was just feeling a bit testy about the amount of information they "required" for a $5 deal. I was actually expecting a response call on my private number. drharpchops

Will I be able to register this game with steam?

> THIS PRODUCT INCLUDES SECUROM COPY PROTECTION TECHNOLOGY FROM SONY DADC.

This stopped me dead in my tracks...

Won't be downloading this then. Pity I hear good things about this game.

This comes up on sale on Steam regularly if you are patient.

great game... horrible copy protection.

You couldn't pay me $5 to put SecuROM on my computer with this game.

Whats even more ironic is that this game was pirated a week before it was release. Great job punishing paying customers EA. You continue to set the bar low.

SecureROM? Wow. I was literally about to buy, and stopped just in time. Thanks for the head's up--I am not interested in that DRM version. Just have to wait around for the Steam sale.

I've read all the complaints by the slashdot crowd and all the pirates. I don't know what the big deal is.

I googled to see what games use SecuROM. This may be an incomplete list, but I came back with the following games installed on my system that have it (some may have had it patched out):

BioShock, Spore, Indigo Prophecy, Mirror's Edge, Bionic Commando, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Street Fighter IV, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, Supreme Commander, World in Conflict.

I'm hardly a novice user. I'm a web developer. I mount virtual drives, run Apache locally, custom software, and other things. I never would have known about the DRM if I hadn't looked, because it's never gotten in my way.

I'm not calling anyone a liar here. I'm sure it's caused some grief for someone somewhere. But really. This is blown WAY out of proportion. There are three gaming PCs in my home. It's never been an issue on any of them.

Why the gigantic tantrum freak-outs whenever this comes up?

@pyromosh: nerds can't stand not having something to complain about. Today it just happens to be SecureROM. Tomorrow it will be the lack of bonus features with the Lost season 6 dvd set.
