Pretty awesome. Looks like they just launched recently. I like their teaching style. If gently guides you, but also forces you to think things out yourself (the only real way to learn).

The lessons are quick, so hopefully they get more posted/developed before too long.

@ryum: Nope - doesn't teach you how to search job listings and won't email companies on your behalf. It will help you get learning on how to develop apps for some platforms like webOS though.

I may have to try this from a different computer... the intro lessons kept forgetting my variables and returning errors despite my code generating the desired results.

When I clicked the "courses" link, it only showed java programming. Why would anyone want to bother with java? Oh wait, to piss off the desktop admins that need to update java 3 times a week, and keep 7 different versions of java installed on everyone's computer because java programmers can't figure out how to make their software work with every minor update that comes out.

Plus who can resist installing yet another search toolbar every time you need to update java (which as I pointed out is about 3 times a week).

@subrec: because there are still a ton of jobs where Java developers that make boatloads more money than the admins they apparently piss off (though likely their code needs no such update) still available in the major job markets? Seems reasonable. Plus, most probably develop Java web apps that really won't bother a real admin because the server-side Java updates they need will be infrequent and a real sysadmin will be able to handle it without much issue since it is pretty junior sysadmin level stuff really.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
