I highly recommend this model. It has plenty of options- wireless internet (or wired) and USB to name a few. To use the USB port, download the USB channel from Roku. It allows you to browse the USB drive. It will not play AVI files. Plex is another option if you have a home network set up. It will take a little know-how when it comes to setting it up, so if you don't know anything about computers, stick to just the Roku.

Facebook has a large Roku users group with tons of info on how to get the most out of your Roku, private channels, etc.

@hondaman88: Yeah second that endorsement. I have one and it's pretty good device.

Picked this up last time it was available which was only a week ago or so... got it in the mail on Tuesday and so far, so good.

This is my second Roku and I'm happy with both. Tons of viewing options, simple operation, and a ever-expanding user base means it will remain one of the first platforms to get updates and new content options.

I've never used the SDCard slot, and I've yet to use the USB port on the XS, but it is nice to know it exists. My favorite feature of the XS so far is that the remote uses radio signals instead of IR, so I don't have to be pointing it in the right direction and line of sight is a thing of the past. If you want to clean up the look of your television, they make a mount to hang the Roku from the back of the TV so you won't even see it - although a strip of adhesive backed velcro would probably be cheaper. Then again considering these are about the size of a hockey puck hiding it isn't really even necessary.

@costner: It's my understanding that you can't really use the SD card, it's only for downloaded content (games, etc.). Sort of an expanded memory for the system.

@drumcorpsnut: Can't we do URLs here like other Woot sites?

Edit: Looks like deals automatically converts URLs without having to tag them.

Love my roku

Be aware... Netflix is rolling out new UI for Roku 3... but not for Roku 2.

Love my Rokus, but I would think twice before buying a legacy Roku now if user interface is important to you.

@hondaman88: You're right - I just haven't downloaded enough content to need it yet. Although there are over 1000 channels available, I really only use about 20 and the only game I have installed is the free copy of Angry Birds, so my internal memory is far from full. However if I ever get to the point where I need space for games it is nice to know they give you the option to add a SD card.

@calculon68: They have stated the other Roku's will get the new Netflix UI later. It doesn't mean it will never come, it is just that they are focusing on the newest generation first. From what I read it should happen on the older units in early 2014.
