FYI:
DPReview gave it 3.5/5 stars (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Sony/sony_dslra230.asp)
CNet gave it the same score (http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/sony-alpha-dslr-a230/4505-6501_7-33659643.html)
@brendotroy: Sony just needs to stop trying to make DSLR cameras. Anyone who is serious about getting one just fork out the extra 100 bucks:

@kingkong1054: I've owned Canon, Nikon and Sony and my Sony DSLR is just as capable as either of the other two. Given that Sony is the only one of the three that offers in-body anti-shake / vibration-reduction, it is very competitive.
Agreed that for beginners the Sonys are just about as good - and this is coming from a Nikon guy (who's used Canons extensively as well).
I have to admit, the Pentax Kx is the entry-level camera that interests me most. Best features for the price by far, with good ergonomics and fast AF for an entry level body. My roommate has one and it's nearly as responsive as my D200 with AF-S lenses. High ISOs are almost as good as the D90 too.
