You need to get the optional firebox to go with this so you can also smoke stuff too. (Make your own bacon. Mmmmmmmmmmm..............)

Save your money - Buy a Traeger. Best money I ever spent.

I bought it last year at Lowe's for this price.

I picked up this and the optional firebox before the start of the summer and have had a great time with it. I don't use the gas side a whole lot, but have really enjoyed the smoker.

I own this grill. With the optional firebox, it's a great intro to smoking, though I find it a lot of work to maintain a target temperature. It's great having the versatility of gas and charcoal. I usually use the charcoal, and the wife usually uses the gas. It's the best of all worlds. If you really get into smoking, though, you'll probably be looking for something else in a couple of years. Still, a great grill. Very heavy duty.

It is a great grill once it is put together. Assembly of this product is very trying to say the least. If at all possible, buy it pre-assembled and save yourself a very big headache.

Lowe's has a new homeowner kit that includes a 10% off coupon. You can get it sent to you via email, or it is included in a change of address packet from the post office. I got my grill for $179 at the beginning of summer! Pre-assembled as well!

I bought this unit in April when it went on sale and got a 10% off coupon for moving from Lowes. "Mr Barbecue Man" LOVES it and has gotten his money's worth out of it using it every weekend, he has only used his Weber propane grill 2 times since April. Be SURE to let Lowe's assemble it and load it into your truck for you for free!!

I keep seeing this Char-Griller S-5050 Gas/Charcoal Duo Grill for $199 on this site and also at Priceslickers.com but when I go to check-out on this site it still charges me $299... am I missing something to get the $100 off of this price? Can someone please give me some suggestions on how to get this discount because this is a gift for a really good friend that deserves it. I hate to cry the blues but I became disabled in 2006 & this individual has helped me through some pretty tough times, he works 7 days a week & has such a heart of gold. Sadly he cannot buy this for himself due to the fact he has to hand his entire paycheck over to his wife that won't even give him an allowance... how sad is that? So please if someone can assist me with getting this discount so I can make this a reality I WOULD BE SO APPRECIATIVE! Thank-you to all the "WOOTERS" as I see you call yourselves.. too cool!!

I had this unit but it fell apart in 3 yrs time. Metal could stand to be thicker so it would last longer. If you like to charcoal smoke much this is not a good long term pit for you as I learned. The gas grill part also fell apart in 3 yrs time. The brackets that hold the grates up disintergrated. We attached the optional smoker box to the charcoal end and used it to cook steaks on but the metal is just not sturdy enough.
