@gerrware: and what would 400 bucks get me ... jeez it just keeps going and going. Thanks for the deal though i'm considering. It really does have a ton of good reviews and it's a great price for a 40"
I'd recommend http://www.walmart.com/ip/TCL-The-Creative-Life-40-L40FHDM12/17281691 for $349.
TCL is a rebranded RCA set. Large screen, and a MUCH better contrast ratio (20,000:1 versus 4,000:1).
Getting great reviews too, on Walmart AND Amazon.
I ordered one of these last week for my son as a birthday gift. It arrived a few hours ago. It is pretty darn good for a $300 TV. Basically, it cost $50 more than the lowest priced 32" TVs I found onsale on Cyber Monday, and my son wanted a bigger TV than his brother, so...
It fits the bill perfectly as this is going to be used in my son's bedroom. I can confirm that the viewable angles are excellent. From the bottom bunk bed to the TV is around 45 degrees below vertical. The picture is just as good from that angle as it is strait on. It does have a little more dimming when viewed from far off to left and right side. But, it has a swivel base, so you can angle it towards the side of the room where you are. The sound is not bad either.
I'd definitly recommend this TV...
Also, when I ordered it, I got free Shipping. Not bad at all...
Seems like a good deal? anybody know of Element? seems like a low refresh rate for 1080p
No reviews yet, I think it is a relatively new item on walmart.com
