These are great for moving heavy furniture/household items. The only drawback is needing someone to lift the furniture up a bit to slide these things underneath.

@lavikinga: Have you seen the ones that come with a "lifter" tool? Haven't tried the lifter yet, but it seems like it would work...as long as it didn't snap in two. LOL ( http://www.walmart.com/ip/As-Seen-On-TV-EZ-Moves-Furniture-Mover/16609873 )

LOVE the sliders though!! I have several pieces of furniture that are far too heavy to lift and simply will NOT move after they have settled into the carpeting...the sliders fixed that problem nicely.

We used to use these at a place where I worked for heavy merchandise displays. They're amazingly helpful. I'm considering grabbing a set, honestly.

@jimeezlady: Yes, I have but wondered how well it worked. We have the lifting straps which are fabulous once you get the hang of them. Between the straps and the discs, we were able to move my eldest out into her own apartment in a matter of hours. They seem like a con--just plastic and foam, but these things work pretty darn well.

these things are just amazing for moving stuff on carpet.

i also got a set of four small ones that live under the legs of my tv stand, since it's has to be slid out of an alcove to access the cables in back. works like a charm!

Hey, you folks have convinced me. Thanks.

We have them permanently placed under our king size bed, which is super heavy. I can slide it on the carpet when I need to get something under it (cat puke, shoe, etc.)
