15 dollars cheaper at think geek, of course their shipping is more expensive and typically slower than Newegg.
Got this for Christmas and I love it! It's a decorative lamp, don't expect to read by it.
Nice, but way too pricey.
20 bucks shipped sounds reasonable.
If it was tiny maybe $20 would be right but it is not. It is large, has many parts to it and several bright LEDs. Something like this is not cheap to make.
@chaedog: Well darn it. When I saw the deal I searched around to confirm it was the best deal and Think Geek never popped up. Looks to be a little cheaper at Think Geek with shipping. The price is so close for the same shipping, no point in posting a new deal. Thanks for sharing the cheaper price! For me it would only save 6 dollars if you went with ground and about 2 dollars for three day. The price can be higher depending on where you live.
Got one of these for Christmas.
It is kind of cool but here are a few things to note:
1] Seems to be mostly made of a brittle type of plastic. Very light.
2] You need to clean the contact points pretty frequently (edges) or the blocks won't light up.
3] It flickers. You may or may not be bothered by it -- you can especially see it when you glance at it. They're using a really cheap power supply. I'll modify it with a capacitor when I get some time to kill the flicker.
LED lights typically flicker on AC power. Ever seen the flicker on LED Christmas lights?
Think Geek has this for 39.99, this price sucks
@drzauis: This was already reported. Equivalent shipping practically negates the savings and ThinkGeek doesn't always ship the next day. Anything goes wrong with you purchase, NewEgg is tops in customer assistance when that happens.
