Sweet! I'll definitely be buying Populous. GOG has had some great weekend sales lately. I bought Lords of the Realm Gold last week and Syndicate a week before that.

At this rate I'll never need to buy a new game (or new PC) again.

@samstag: Yea, I bought the Lords of the Realm before the deal, it was one of my favorite games growing up. I will say that I could never get the multiplayer to work with LoTR 2 though...

I love GOG.com. No DRM, great selection, and fantastic customer service.

Dungeon Keeper and DK2 are my favorite mine/build/attack RTS games of all time. Funny, strange and challenging.

Another thumbs up for GOG. Great site.

Pfft...no 'Mail Order Monsters'. Now, THAT was a classic EA game.

These are great games to be sure, but EA is getting none of my money.

@malio: I don't actually think EA gets any of the money, they might make a few cents off the purchase, but that would largely depend on the deal GoG.com made with them when they licensed it.

I'm going to have to break my EA boycott for Populous. Used to play that game for hours. I'm noticing that more and more I go back to the "old" games, and only play the new ones once or twice.

@theselected: EA gets at least half the purchase price, possibly 70% or more.

I don't buy their new games lately, but I don't have any problem "voting
with my wallet" on GOG to let them know I'll pay for quality DRM-free games.

Actually, if the game is 5 years of more, they get about 15%, 10 years, and it drops to 1%. Most of the cost is done with shipping/support. Look at DMCA, the answer lies within...

@bruf man, my brother and i played mail order monsters so much when I was in grade school. I remember the constant running away trying to get to the edge of the map, only to run into those mushroom or city things and get all caught up. Fun game.
